Hilltop House
Leopold very welcoming and helpful.
Secure.
Big spacious rooms with views, tatty towels.
Poolside breakfast nice location, but all courses served simultaneously!

Warm reception from the owner and we were given a second floor room as requested and the bed had been strewn with pettals I'm assuming because it was our honeymoon.
The morning breakfast was accompanied by the introduction of the second owner (husband) and they were very accomodating and helpful.
A very pleasant first or last night
A good place to stay on our first night - easy to access from the aiport, very comfortable and fresh decor, and immaculately kept.
The service and food were good, and the option to have an evening meal was much appreciated when the main priority was getting to bed after a long journey.

I've marked this 'poor' because it was a disappointment compared to all the other palces we stayed. I think we were probably in one of the poorer rooms, but nonetheless the welcome was lukewarm (the only place where we weren't met personally by the managwer or owner).
No proper restaurant, we ordred a 'light meal' from room service which was tough grilled lamb chops and very plain bioled vegetables. Good meals in the hotel or lodge are important in Namibia - you couldn't entertain walking back from Windhoek restaurant at night, so someone would need to drive and therefore not drink. You don't really feel like getting the car out again after a few hundred kilometres on dirt roads!
(I compalined about the meal and we weren't charged for it, and gave the essence of this feedback diredt to the owner on check-out)

Room a little dated and in need of re decoration (note we were informed of this on our arrival).
Breakfast excellent but evening snack poor even the squash soup on the menu was not available!

Finding the place is not as easy as it is shown on the map, especially after a 14 hours flight!!! But the welcome was warm, the breakfast was superb and they booked a restaurant and a taxi for us for the evening.
Had a nice chat with the owners the next morning, they apologized they did not give us their best room because the previous guests left the tap water running in the bathroom while they were away causing a lot a damage to the wooden floor.
Friendly reception.
Building work on new adjacent house made sitting on balcony unpleasant.
Would have preferred Hotel Thule.

This is in a good location and our room was very good. Unfortunately, they were in the midst of a big 'Spring clean' and the lady of the house was away with her dogs which somewhat disrupted the service. The most annoying factor was, that having been asked what time we wanted breakfast, it was somewhat late, and not what we asked for, the explanation being that "It was Sunday"
The close proximity to Joe's Beer Garden is a plus. This hostelry is a 'must'.
Nice garden
A welcome retreat to relax in the garden.
We chose to have supper at the guest house and just relax by the pool with views over Windhoek. Nice place to unwind after the trip.
Leopold the manager was very attentive and helpful.
