Hilltop House review
Warm welcome, very helpful with advice and other help for our onward trip.

Alan and his team were very friendly, especially as we turned up first thing in the morning and our room wasn't yet ready. Still, we were given tea, driving directions into the centre of Windhoek, and recommendations for shopping and lunch.
After a siesta, Alan suggeted we visit a local bar within walking distance, and we had a lovely evening there. Alan invited us to pop in to see him again on our way back to the airport when we finished our holiday but we didn't have time sadly.
I guess the only negative point was the very weak shower (more like mist than rain!).
Hilltop House review
Hilltop House was an excellent first night stop in Windhoek. The owners and staff were extremely helpful and obliging and the room was clean and comfortable.
We very much recommend eating at Joe' s Beerhouse which the owners suggested to us. This establishment is only a few hundred yards away.

Room was very nice. We were on the first floor so had a wonderful balcony and fantastic views. Breakfast on the private balcony overlooking the city was a great way to enjoy our first morning in Namibia.
We cannot really comment on the facilities as we only spent one night there. However, it was a great place to stay for one night, and central enough to be able to explore Windhoek.

Very helpful owners who recommended Joe's Beer House nearby for our evening meal. There we got the best meat on this trip.
They also gave helpful advice on security (i.e. you must get a taxi back).
Hilltop House review
Convenient location, but the owner was a little concerned about our going out after dark, which was difficult when we didn't have a car. Two good restaurants w/in walking distance.
The most difficult part was that the only bank machine within walking distance didn't appear to be connected to international networks, and we had no Rand, so we didn't have any money until we were able to get downtown the next day.
Allan, the owner, is the friendliest man you will ever meet, and he will do anything for his guests -- except stop talking so we can express our desires! The room was large, and the breakfast delicious. They just got wireless for the building, but don't expect to be able to do much more than basic email.
Hilltop House review
Very relaxing, great situation and helpful host, Alan. Very minor mention. plane arived approx one hour early and Alan not made aware, Pleasant hour in garden with coffee and no real problem before room was ready.
Easy walk downhill to Joe's Beerhouse. Great atmosphere. Great value steak/kebab menu. Huge seating area but subtle division design gives feeling of intimacy. Despite short distance and against our normal judgment best take a taxi back!
Our free day in Windhoek was spent in traversing the whole city on foot with a taxi back. No real problem and excellent midday oasis was the centrally placed Zoo Garden where refreshment can be taken and relaxation taken as exampled by the locals sprawled out on the grass banks
Great place to start
Very pleasant, lovely room, super shower and an ideal place to spend our first night.
Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed it by the pool
They recommended Joe's Beerhouse and made a reservation for us - a really great place to eat
Its too far from town to leave your car and walk into Windhoek
Very comfortable
We have stayed here several times now and always get a very warm welcome from Alan and his staff
