Last night in Namibia at Hilltop House.
The best room again! We ate a fabulous breakfast on our terrace. A good location, although a bit of a walk , but easier to get into central Windhoek than back to Hilltop House! We experienced some difficulty in finding Hilltop House because of a recently closed road. Found Windhoek excellent for souvenir shopping.
As our flight was late evening, a dayroom would have been helpful. However, we were able to leave the car at Hilltop, after we had officially checked out, while we went into Windhoek and our hostess kindly let us sit in the garden until it was time to leave for the airport.
A friendly welcome
Hilltop House was our first accomodation in Namibia and we unfortunately we were there less than 24 hours. However, we found all the staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. We had a great view across Windhoek and the location of the House is quiet and pretty.
The bed was comfortable and the room was decorated to a high standard, breakfast on the terrace in the morning was great.
The House is very near the Windhoek institution 'Joe's BeerHouse' and they reserved us a table the evening we arrived, which was really helpful - we certainly recommend it.
One night stay at Hilltop House
Due to a delayed flight we arrived at Hilltop House at midnight. We were welcomed by the owner who had kindly cooked a meal for us when he had heard how we had been stranded at the airport for the best part of 16 hours. He really put himself out to make sure we had everything we needed.
The breakfast that morning was brought to our room and was very much enjoyed. The accomodation was very clean and from the balcony you had a great view. I'm sorry that we spent such a short time there in Windhoek

A lovely room and delicious breakfast. Well situated - near enough to walk but quiet area.
An excellent place to start our holiday from.
Only reason to not give it full marks - we had asked if a table reservation could be made by the staff at HIlltop and when we got to the restaurant they had no record of it. Also, when we asked where the nearest supermarket was, they were unable to give us directions by car (I appreciate that they usually walk themselves!)

Hilltop is a great place to strt a trip to namibia and just get ourself together after a long flight.
