Africa from the saddle
Riding in Africa
Many African camps offer horse-riding, usually those based in areas with little dangerous game. Even beginners can enjoy the rolling hills without worrying about the dangers of riding in lion country. For those seeking an alternative, a few camps even offer elephant rides. If you love riding, then build some of these places into your trip:
Holidays including riding to Namibia

Riding holidays to Botswana
There are several dedicated, specialist horse-riding camps in Botswana – ask us for details, and note that all require a high minimum level of horsemanship. In areas with dangerous wild animals, like the Okavango Delta, riders must be competent to gallop out of danger if it presents itself. However, for a truly African experience in the saddle – and no prior experience necessary - consider riding African elephants through the Okavango from Abu Camp.
