The Superior chalets at Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel are set in pairs: each is effectively half of a large thatched, round rondavel. These white-washed cottages stand in Ras Nungwi's gardens, each with its own small private veranda.

Inside each of the Superior chalets are light-coloured soft-furnishings, walls and tiles – the end result is a cool and bright ambience. You can open the slatted glass windows to let in the natural sea breeze, or close them and enjoy the refreshing air-conditioning. Every room is equipped with air-con and electronic safe, as well as a wardrobe to hang your clothes, a writing desk and an incredibly large Zanzibari bed.

They are very similar in most respects to the Superor Deluxe chalets, but lack any CD player or fruit bowl – and have a simpler bathroom.

The bathrooms in the Superior Sea View rooms at Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel all have an en-suite flush toilet and hot-and-cold showers – with plenty of hot water. They're very much the same as those in the Lodge rooms.
