This 4WD safari with your own private superior guide utilises some of the best value lodges available to create a well-priced trip that doesn't compromise on quality; spend time exploring the scenic Lake Manyara National Park, game driving in the wildlife filled Ngorongoro Crater and marvelling at the wide open spaces in Serengeti National Park.

Depart London Heathrow on your scheduled overnight flight with Kenya Airways to Nairobi in Kenya. |
Arriving in Nairobi early in the morning, you connect on for a shorter flight to Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha, Tanzania. Here you will be met by your private superior guide and 4WD safari vehicle. You drive through the bustling centre of Arusha, stopping for a closer look if you wish, before the country opens out onto sisal plains. After about 2 hours' drive, you reach the Rift Valley's western escarpment and your lodge overlooking the valley and alkaline Lake Manyara below – |
| Kirurumu Manyara Lodge (full board & activities) |
| Because this is a private safari you can decide whether you start with a leisurely breakfast or rise early to head straight into Lake Manyara National Park on your full day here. At the foot of the escarpment, Manyara has a wide variety of interesting habitats including evergreen forests, acacia woodlands and grassy floodplains bordering the soda lake which is often home to flocks of flamingos. |
You have a relatively short distance to travel today from Manyara to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area so speak to us about the possibility of adding an interesting excursion to your itinerary. Consider an insightful walk through Mto Wa Mbu Village followed by a tasty traditional lunch, or stretch your legs on an afternoon walk across the Ngorongoro Highlands. You'll spend the next two nights on the outer edge of the Crater rim, overlooking the forested slopes from the friendly... |
| Rhino Lodge (full board & activities) |
| Rhino Lodge is a relatively new lodge with a relaxed, local atmosphere. From here it's a short drive around the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater before you descend for a full day of memorable wildlife viewing in one of the most renowned safari destinations. |
Drive down from the Ngorongoro Highlands and onto vast flat plains. Much of this is communal land where tribespeople live alongside wildlife and it's not unusual to see traditionally-dressed Maasai herding their cattle on one side of the road and a herd of zebra on the other. Crossing the invisible boundary into Serengeti National Park, marked only by a gate, your game viewing begins in earnest. It's a fairly long but very fruitful game drive to reach western Serengeti and the high-quality and quirky – |
| Mbalageti Lodge (full board & activities) |
| This comfortable and relatively large lodge is perfectly located through the months of May to July for the great migration. During May the wildebeest herds start moving to this area from the Southern Plains. Then around June, they often build up in huge numbers before crossing the Mbalageti River in a flurry of action. As you are on safari in the Serengeti with your own private guide you can decide between short sorties from the lodge or longer day trips including a picnic lunch and exploring far and wide. |
|
This morning you enjoy a last game drive ending at one of the Serengeti's airstrips. You'll take a light aircraft flight over the Great Rift Valley back to Arusha to either continue onto one of our beach add-ons, or catch a flight back to the UK, via Nairobi, with Kenya Airways. |

You arrive in London Heathrow in the early morning after a superb safari to three of Tanzania's top wildlife reserves. |
