Bateleur fly-in

This classic fly-in trip spends 7 nights in Namibia, and is the base for many longer itineraries; it includes a short stop in the capital, Windhoek; the great dunes of the Namib Desert; the mountains of Damaraland; and the superb game-viewing in Etosha – using excellent camps throughout.

Day 1
Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled South African Airways flight flies you via Johannesburg overnight to Windhoek, where you land early in the afternoon.

Day 2 Windhoek, Namibia
Olive Grove On arrival, you'll be met and driven for about 45 minutes to your guest house. Your day is then your own: to spend by the pool or explore the city. This short stop spends only 1 night here, but this enables you to relax, and ensures that you are ready for your safari.
Olive Grove (bed & breakfast)

Days 3-4 Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp After a short transfer to the airport, you have a superb light aircraft flight to the desert. This passes right over the escarpment, and drops down to the Namib Desert; there's no better way of appreciating Namibia's amazing scenery than from the air. Your base for the next 2 nights to explore the Namib's breathtaking Sossusvlei area is –
Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp (full board & activities)

Days 5-6 Damaraland, Namibia
Damaraland Camp Leaving the Sossusvlei area, you fly over the Namib's most spectacular dunes, along the coast to Swakopmund. There you disembark for a short drive to Walvis Bay, a boat trip around the lagoon, in search of dolphins, seals, and the area's outstanding birdlife. After a private picnic on the beach, continue flying over the Skeleton Coast to damaraland. Here you stay for 2 nights, and your activities include drives in open 4x4 vehicles with specialist guides in search of resident game, as well as stunning mountain walks.
Damaraland Camp (full board & activities)

Days 7-8 Etosha National Park, Namibia
Ongava Tented Camp Flying out of Damaraland usually affords a great view of the camp, perched on the edge of the huge valley of the Huab River. Your plane then heads northeast, and climbs above the central highlands before dropping down to land on the south side of Etosha, for 2 nights at –

Day 9
After two spectacular days exploring Ongava's private reserve, and the spectacular Etosha National Park, you'll fly southwards along Namibia's rolling central highlands, arriving at Windhoek Airport in good time to connect to your scheduled overnight flight back to the UK with South African Airways.

Day 10
You arrive back in London Heathrow early in the morning, making connecting to other flights, or travel back to your home in the UK, very easy. With a minimal time difference between Namibia and the UK, there's seldom any real jet lag – at the end of such a magical holiday.
