Boehm's Zebra Safari
The Busanga Plains, in the remote north of Kafue National Park are the focus of this luxurious safari staying at three newly-refurbished camps – Lufupa Bushcamp, Busanga Bushcamp and Shumba or Kapinga; it's a great safari to see a stunning area from its first really luxurious safari camps – and this area has Zambia's best population of cheetah, as well as excellent wild dog, lion and leopard. Because of the black-cotton soil that is found in the Kafue, these camps are only open during the dry season in Zambia, between May and October.

Beginning in the evening from London Heathrow, your scheduled British Airways overnight flight will take you directly to Lusaka. |
Arriving in Lusaka early in the morning, you'll transfer to a 70-minute flight to Lufupa's airstrip, on the north-western edge of Kafue National Park. Meeting your guide, there's a game drive lasting about 90 minutes (or more, depending on what you see) to your base for 3 nights, overlooking rapids in the perennial Kafue River – |

After exploring around the Kafwala and Lufupa areas, you'll be taken to the airstrip for your flight north, to Busanga Plains. Arriving in Busanga, you'll transfer by helicopter, giving you a bird's eye view of how the landscape opens out into the Busanga Plains: a seasonally-flooded area that hosts huge herds of game and dense predator concentrations. Your base here for 2 nights is the stylish – |

After a final morning's safari, you'll be driven across the plains for your last 2 nights in luxury at Shumba Camp. (Alternatively you'll use the nearby, and equally opulent, Kapinga Camp.) Both are set on small 'tree islands', dominated by wild date palms and enormous fig trees – with great views all around over the Busanga Plains. |

Leaving early in the morning, you transfer by 4WD back to Shumba's airstrip for the short flight back to Lusaka Airport. There you connect to a scheduled flight to Johannesburg and from there to your direct British Airways flight back to London Heathrow. |

Your flight arrives early this morning at London Heathrow after a superb trip to Zambia. |
