Dik Dik self-drive
Spend 9 nights exploring the highlights of Southern Namibia, taking in the flaming red dunes and vast gravel plains of the Naukluft region and the contrasting lush Naukluft Mountains; move onto the quaint, almost-Bavarian town of Swakopmund for a few days.
|
Starting from London Gatwick, your scheduled Air Namibia overnight flight will take you directly (and non-stop) to Windhoek, where you land early in the morning. |
On arrival at Windhoek, pick up your hire car and drive for 45 minutes into the city. Spend the day strolling around the centre of Namibia's charming capital whilst enjoying the many shops and cafés that this spacious European style town has to offer. Stay 1 night at one of our recommended guesthouses, such as the… |

After breakfast, embark on a 3-hour journey to the Naukluft Mountains where the lush gorges form a stark contrast to the surrounding deserts; the streams, waterfalls and ravines make for perfect hiking and prolific birdlife. Whilst here, spend your few nights at a very comfortable and friendly lodge situated in private canyon, the … |

As you head into the Sesriem Area, take your time driving through the beautiful desert landscape and stop for photos along the way. Then spend a further 2 nights exploring the spectacular dune scenery in the Sossuevlei and Sesriem areas whilst on guided 4x4 trips organised by your lodge, |

Drive north to the quaint town of Swakopmund; surrounded by the desert and the sea it is a fun stop for a few days with plenty of restaurants, shops and historic buildings to wonder around. Then take advantage of the morning kayaking in Walvis Bay, known as 'bird paradise', that is included whilst staying at… |

|
After a leisurely breakfast and sadly your last morning, you might stop off at Okahandja's vast curio market on the drive back to Windhoek and Windhoek Airport. Allow yourself time there to drop off the hire car, and then connect with your scheduled Air Namibia overnight flight to the UK. |
|
You arrive back in London Gatwick early in the morning, to easily connect to other flights, or to travel back to your home in the UK. With a minimal time difference between Namibia and the UK, there's seldom any real jet lag – at the end of such a magical holiday. |
