Flufftail safari

This high quality safari uses a combination of fantastic luxury semi-permanent camps and a more permanent camp, as bases to explore famous areas of the northern circuit such as Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park; travel with your own knowledgeable superior guide and 4x4 safari vehicle.

Day 1
Depart London Heathrow on your scheduled overnight flight with British Airways to Dar es Salaam.

Days 2-4 Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area, Tanzania
Lemala Luxury Camp Ngorongoro Arrive at Dar es Salaam early in the morning, where you will connect straight onto a light flight to Arusha. Here you will be met by you own private superior guide and 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-top roof. Together you drive out of Arusha – where the town slowly gives way to rural country side. Pass Maasai herding their cattle on the road side and people carrying produce to the market, on your way to…
Lemala Luxury Camp Ngorongoro (full board & activities)
Spend one of your full days here in the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater - which has extraordinary numbers of game and spectacular scenery. Then on your second full day, head to the lesser known Empaki Crater. This smaller crater certainly rivals is more famous counterpart in beauty, with some really spectacular scenery. Though as it is without big game it is better suited to walking. Walk through stunning forests, to the crater floor and around the lake which is often filled with flamingos. This excursion is usually missed out by the masses, which makes it a quiet and offbeat day trip.

Days 5-7 Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania
Dunia Camp Leave Lemala Camp after an early breakfast and drive right round the Crater rim and on to Serengeti National Park. During you time here, stay in one of the smart camps that at certain times of year is a good spot for viewing the great migration.
Dunia Camp (full board & activities)
With your own private vehicle and guide – you have the flexibility to arrange your days as you wish. Either head out on an all day safari – exploring far from camp and stopping when you feel like it for a picnic lunch. Or enjoy a more leisurely day, with a morning drive and then an afternoon drive – spending the heat of the day in camp.

Days 8-11 Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania
Sayari Mara Camp Depart in the morning with a packed lunch, and drive at leisure through the Serengeti. Few vehicles venture this far north, so you can enjoy real wilderness and might find that you have driven for hours without seeing anyone else. In August, the wildebeest migration will usually be passing through this area – and as you drive through you will see many herds grazing, before arriving at….
Sayari Mara Camp (full board & activities)
Sayari Mara Camp is the most northerly camp in the Serengeti – for many its remoteness is its real draw. This luxury tented camp near to the Mara border is only a moments drive away from the Mara River. Form about August through to October the herds are crossing this great river, and it is a time of frenzied excitement. Stay here to see the migration, with very few other people around.

Day 12
After bidding farewell to Sayari you will be driven to a nearby airstrip to catch a light flight back to Arusha. From here, either continue on to one of our beach trips in Zanzibar, Pemba, Ras Kutani or the Mafia Archipelago, or transfer across to Kilimanjaro Airport by private car. Here you will connect with your flight to Nairobi and then meet your British Airways overnight flight back to London.

Day 13
Arrive back in London early in the morning having thoroughly enjoyed a memorable safari, with plenty of time to make the final leg of your journey home.
