Francolin fly-in



This 13 day fly-in itinerary takes you through Namibia's key highlights at a relaxed pace. Discover the enormous sand dunes of the Namib Desert, the quaint coastal town of Swakopmund, abundant rock art amidst the rugged mountains of Damaraland and spectacular game viewing in Etosha National Park.

Day 1
Depart from London Heathrow on your scheduled overnight flight with South African Airways to Windhoek, via Johannesburg.

Days 2-3 Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Kulala Desert Lodge Clear customs at Windhoek Airport and meet your light aircraft pilot before setting off on an hour flight over the great escarpment to the Namib Desert. You'll explore this remarkable area on guided 4WD excursions and walks; discovering the majestic apricot coloured dunes at Sossusvlei, the fascinating geology of Sesriem Canyon and the expansive desert plains of the Kulala Reserve. Kulala Desert Lodge (full board & activities)

Days 4-6 Swakopmund & Walvis Bay, Namibia
Hansa Hotel Hop onto another light aircraft for a memorable flight over the desert and up the Atlantic Coast to reach Swakopmund. A road transfer takes you to your convenient base in the centre of this pleasant seaside town. There's plenty of free time during your three night stay to mooch around the shops, historic architecture, museums, galleries, restaurants, cafes, craft market and waterfront. Days 9-11 Etosha National Park, Namibia

Your focus here is game viewing, on guided 4WD excursions into Etosha and on the local reserve. Day 12

Notes:
  • This itinerary can be tailor-made to suit you – though note that most flight routes travel in a clockwise direction around Namibia's main highlights. You can opt to add nights at the existing lodges and/or extend the itinerary to include more Namibian highlights – call us to discuss options.
  • This safari usually visits Ongava Tented Camp but this can be substituted for Ongava Lodge, subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • Flight upgrades to World Traveller Plus or Business Class are usually easy to arrange; ask us for details.
  • The prices shown are per person sharing in double or twin rooms; call us for single person supplements.

This itinerary includes:
  • Economy flights between London Heathrow and Windhoek (via Johannesburg), including airport departure taxes.
  • All light aircraft flights and airport transfers in Namibia as described.

This itinerary excludes:
  • Gratuities (which are optional).
  • Lunch, dinner and any additional activities whilst in Swakopmund.
  • All beverages whilst staying in Swakopmund and Mowani Mountain Camp. Champagne, specially imported spirits, fine vintage wines and similarly exotic alcoholic drinks whilst staying at Kulala Desert Lodge and Ongava Tented Camp.
