Green turtle add-onThis great beach add-on trip spends 6 nights at Marlin Lodge on Benguerra Island in Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago, and includes return flights from/to Johannesburg – it's a perfect beach break to add on to one of our safaris to Botswana, or our trips to Namibia or Zambia, with an emphasis on excellent water-sports and activities available at Marlin Lodge The flights from Johannesburg to Mozambique, which are integral to this trip, depart in the morning. Because of this, most travellers will overnight in Johannesburg prior to this trip – and many will connect directly through to international flights on their return.
This itinerary includes: • Economy flights from Johannesburg to Vilanculos, on the coast of Mozambique, and back to Johannesburg • Return transfers by road and boat between Vilanculos and Marlin Lodge. (Typically this is a 10-minute drive to the harbour, a 25-minute boat-ride to the beach, and then a short wade ashore!) • Three meals per day, teas and coffees at Marlin Lodge • Non-motorised water-sports: windsurfing, ocean ski paddling, power kite flying & catamaran sailing at Marlin Lodge • A 5-night stay at Marlin Lodge includes a complimentary sunset cruise on a Dhow, and also a Benguerra Island “Drive Tour”, on which you can explore the island by Landrover. These are all different, but during this you may meet some of the local community, see the freshwater lakes and hike up some of the island's scenic sand dunes. This itinerary excludes: • Mozambique domestic departure taxes. • Marlin Lodge is within a National Marine Park; the fee for entry to this is US$10 per person, payable locally. • All activities which aren't mentioned above – including motorised water-sports, spa treatments, scuba-diving, fishing, snorkelling and boat trips. All these can be paid for locally • All other drinks (soft and alcoholic) and activities at the lodge • Tips and gratuities, which are optional. ^ Top of page |
