Hoopoe safari
This relaxed 7-night safari visits Lake Manyara National Park the amazing Ngorongoro Crater and the world renowned Serengeti National Park at a leisurely pace; staying in two good quality and unpretentious camps, you'll explore these areas in a private safari vehicle with your own superior guide who will bring a real knowledge of the areas and the abundant wildlife found there, allowing you to get the most out of your holiday.

Depart London Heathrow in the evening, on your scheduled overnight flight with Kenya Airways to Nairobi. |
Connecting from Nairobi on to Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha you'll arrive early in the day ready to head straight off on your trip. Your private 4WD safari vehicle and superior guide will meet you at the airport and together you set off through rural Tanzania. Soon leaving the bustling Arusha behind you'll pass through farmlands and small villages, passing traditionally dressed Maasai herders and colourfully clothed locals on their way to market, before arriving at… |
| Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge (full board & activities) |
| This is a great base from which to explore both Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. During one of your days you can enjoy game driving in Manyara: a small but beautiful park which sits at the foot of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Then on your second full day you'll drive up into the thickly-forested Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending into the Crater. An amazing number and variety of animals can be found here including some of the biggest 'tuskers' in Africa, great herds of wildebeest, very relaxed lions and even rhino. |
|
After a satisfying breakfast, drive back up into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, admiring the wonderful views from the Crater rim as you go. Although you are travelling through a Conservation area instead of a national park there is still a lot of wildlife to see here. Living alongside the wildlife you'll see Maasai going about their daily lives, perhaps herding their goats and cattle or repairing their homes (manyattas). Later you'll cross the invisible boundary into the Serengeti National Park, finally reaching the high quality…. |
| Kusini Camp (full board & activities) |
| In the heart of southern Serengeti's short-grass plains, Kusini Camp sits high on a rock kopje and the views from the lodge are spectacular. Head out daily with your private guide to explore the surrounding area and seek out its wildlife. From about late-November to April, during Tanzania's rains, the savannah turns green and comes alive with wildebeest herds as the great migration congregates here. |
|
Leaving the Serengeti behind you drive back to Arusha, where you can either continue onto one of our beach add-on trips to Zanzibar, Pemba or Mafia or head to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect with your Kenya Airways flight, via Nairobi, to London. |
|
Arrive at London Heathrow early in the morning after an amazing safari to undoubtedly two of Africa's best known wildlife destinations. |
