Lion safari

This varied Botswana safari explores two different areas of the Okavango Delta and one of the drier private concessions further north, in Botswana's Linyanti region. You will stay atotal of 7 nights at three great safari camps: Stanley's Camp, Shinde and Linyanti Bush Camp. At Stanley's there is the chance to participate in a magical elephant experience (at extra cost). The bird-watching is excellent in all of these areas, but the trip really focuses more on big game in these wildlife-rich concessions. The trip is an individual trip – not a group trip – so talk to us to tailor-make something similar for you.

This Botswana safari can also easily be combined with a visit to see the Victoria Falls. See our trips to Livingstone for examples of the add-on options, and their costs.

Day 1
Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled overnight flight takes you to Johannesburg.

Days 2-3 Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana
Stanley's Camp In Jo'burg you connect to a 2-hour scheduled Air Botswana flight to Maun, where you are met before flying by light aircraft to a private concession in the south of the Okavango Delta. You usually arrive in time for a late lunch, and are based for 2 nights at -

Days 4-5 Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana
Shinde Camp After your morning activity, you are transferred by 4WD to the airstrip. A light aircraft will pick you up and about 25 minutes later drop you in another private concession, this time on the north-western side of the Delta. Less than 3 km from the airstrip, Shinde is an impressive camp which overlooks the reed-beds of the Xudum River. You will be based here for 2 nights and from here you can do day and night game drives, guided walks, and boating and mokoro trips. For further details click below -
Shinde Camp (full board & activities)

Days 6-8 Kwando-Linyanti area, Botswana
Linyanti Bush Camp After your morning activity at Shinde, you are driven to the airstrip for a light-aircraft hop to Chobe Enclave, in Botswana's Linyanti region. When you land, you will be picked up by game vehicle and driven to the independently owned and run Linyanti Bush Camp. For further details of your base for 3 nights click on –

Day 9
After an hour's light aircraft flight back to Maun, you'll connect with your Air Botswana flight to Jo'burg, and then board your scheduled overnight flight back to London Heathrow.

Day 10
Arriving back in London Heathrow, early in the morning, you've the whole day to get yourself home – and reflect on your super Botswana safari.
