Medjumbe Beach Add-on

This unique beach add-on trip spends 6 nights on Medjumbe Island in the remote Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique; it includes return flights and transfers to/from Dar es Salaam, and is designed as an add-on to a remote tropical island in a truly pristine environment – it's a stunning beach add-on to one of our Tanzania safaris.

The flights between Dar es Salaam and Pemba (the main town in northern Mozambique), upon which this trip is based, do not run every day, and so talk to us about how to integrate this add-on trip with the rest of your safari.

Trips like this to northern Mozambique work best as add-ons to safaris in Tanzania. However, this add-on trip could be combined with a safari to Botswana, Zambia or even Namibia using direct flights between Jo'burg and Pemba which operate twice per week, though these is a supplement of around £250 per person for this.

Day 1 Pemba & mainland, Mozambique
Pemba Beach Hotel Your flight from Dar es Salaam to Mozambique is usually with Air Mozambique, typically departing in the afternoon. Days 2-5 Quirimbas Archipelago, Mozambique
Medjumbe Private Island In the morning, depart your hotel and return to the airport where you will board a small light aircraft. A stunning scenic flight takes you over the tiny islands of the Quirimbas, until after 1 hour you land on a tiny island barely 1 kilometre in length. On arrival you will be met and escorted the short distance to your room on the private….
Medjumbe Private Island (full board)
Staying on Medjumbe Island for total of six nights, your luxurious villa has air-conditioning, though you may seldom need it. It's a tiny island, barely a kilometre in length, that's easy to walk around half an hour or so. When the tide is out you can walk further, out across the stunning exposed sandbanks or just relax around your private plunge pool if you prefer!

Day 6
After your last morning's relaxed breakfast, you'll take a 60-minute flight by light-aircraft back to Pemba, from where you'll depart on your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam. Timings of these flights vary, but arriving in the late afternoon would be normal.
