Oribi Safari
This great-value Zambia safari starts on the north side of Zambia's largest reserve, Kafue National Park, where it spends 7 nights exploring the Busanga Plains and the woodlands around Lufupa, which are so famous for their leopards. It then moves to Zambia's South Luangwa National Park staying at top-class camps run by Remote Africa Safaris – including 4 nights in a remote walking-only area of the park – before returning to a comfortable lodge just outside Lusaka to relax before the British Airways return flight to London Heathrow.

Landing in Lusaka early on Saturday morning, you will be met at the airport and helped through immigration and luggage collection. There may be a short wait at the airport for your group to join up, and then you will be flown by light aircraft for about 90 minutes to Lufupa Airstrip, in Kafue National Park. This morning you will head further north through the park, where the woodlands give way to the spectacular open Busanga Plains. These amazing grasslands cover about 750km². They are submerged for almost half the year, but when dry these nutritious grasses attract herds of lechwe and puku, and an abundance of predators including lion and cheetah. | This intimate little camp, with just four simple yet very comfortable chalets, is nestled in a tree island on the plains, in a perfect gameviewing area. Your activities here will major on 4x4 safaris on the open plains, including exciting night drives. It's great country for predators; Busanga's tree-climbing lions are often seen hunting, wild dogs are around, and it's Zambia's best area for cheetah! |
This morning you will depart early for a fascinating game drive across the plains and into the woodlands and back to Lufupa Tented Camp for your last night. Your guide will explain how the ecology of the park changes as you head south, and you should arrive in camp in time for a delicious lunch.
