A 12 night drive and fly itinerary that begins by exploring the Namib Desert on a self-drive and concludes with a fly-in to northern Namibia. You'll drive through dramatic landscapes from Windhoek to the Namib Desert and discover the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes at your own pace, before continuing by road to Swakopmund. From here, light aircraft transfers take you into the remote wilderness of northern Damaraland and on to Etosha National Park. Access into Sossusvlei before sunrise, coastal activities, rhino tracking and exciting game drives are just some of the highlights on this varied safari.

Day 1

Depart London Heathrow on a scheduled South African Airways flight to Windhoek, via Johannesburg, arriving the following day.

Day 2 Windhoek, Namibia

Pick up your hire car on arrival at Windhoek Airport and drive into Windhoek city, a 45 minute journey through the rolling hills that lie east of the capital. Days 3-4 Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia

Begin your self-drive adventure by heading south-west across the Khomas Hochland Highlands and descend the great escarpment to the Namib Desert below. This itinerary includes:

• Economy flights between London Heathrow and Windhoek (via Johannesburg), plus airport departure taxes.
• A Group B/C hire car for part of your trip, to be collected at Windhoek Airport and dropped off in Swakopmund.


• The hire car is covered by the vehicle hire company's Super Cover insurance. Please note that this is only valid for drivers who are aged 25 years and over. This covers unlimited mileage, theft, personal accident insurance and almost all damages. (Alternative insurance arrangements are possible for fully inclusive cover, although this alters the price of the itinerary slightly.)
• All necessary transfers in Namibia, including light aircraft flights as described.
• Accommodation on the meal and activity basis as specified.
• Most drinks whilst staying at Desert Rhino Camp and Ongava Tented Camp (including all soft drinks, house wines and local beers and spirits).
• A comprehensive pack of information and maps relevant to the places that you'll be visiting.

This itinerary excludes:

• Tips (which are optional).
• Meals and activities not included in the accommodation basis as specified.
