Samango safari
Travelling between two excellent wildlife reserves in your own private 4WD safari vehicle allows you to see colourful and interesting rural scenes which many travellers to southern Tanzania miss out on: whilst in the small yet interesting Mikumi National Park you'll explore with your own private guide in said vehicle; upon arriving in Selous Game Reserve, you're private guide leaves you to enjoy the area with one of the very knowledgeable lodge guides who know the area intimately. - you'll end your safari with a light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam.

| Vuma Hills (full board & activities) |
| Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania's quieter and more offbeat parks. Mikumi's open grasslands are home to a variety of wildlife including various antelope, elephant, giraffe and good numbers of wild dog. Vuma Hills is also a good base from which to take a day trip and hike in the fascinating Udzungwa Mountains; home to numerous special and endemic plant and animal species. |
Heading northeast from Mikumi, you turn south to enter the Selous Game Reserve. It's a long but very interesting drive today, partly through rural countryside and partly through the various landscapes of the Selous Game Reserve. On your last morning you'll transfer to a nearby airstrip for a light aircraft transfer to Dar es Salaam. From here you can either continue onto one of our beach add-on trips, or hop onto the daytime British Airways flight back to London, arriving later that evening. |

- The prices shown are based on two people travelling together and sharing double or twin rooms.
- Because this is based on a private vehicle and guide, the costs for this trip would reduce if more than two people are travelling. Conversely, they would increase substantially if only one person is travelling alone.

This itinerary includes:- Economy flights from the UK, plus airport departure taxes.
- A superior guide for the first three nights of your safari (until your arrival at Rufiji River Lodge).
- All transfers in Tanzania.
- Tea, coffee and a complementary laundry service are included whilst at Vumi Hills and Rufiji River Camp.
- Current park fees for Mikumi National Park and The Selous Game Reserve.
This itinerary excludes:- All drinks (excluding tea and coffee whilst in each lodge) which will be for your own account and payable locally.
- Tips, which are optional.
- The cost of arranging visas - currently (Jan 2012) holders of British and American passports do need a visa for Tanzania, which can be obtained through the Tanzanian High Commission or Embassy closest to you prior to travel.
