Sandpiper safari

This high quality safari uses a mix of luxury semi-permanent camps, and comfortable charming lodges as bases to explore famous areas such as the Lake Manyara National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Parksuperior guide in a private 4WD safari vehicle.

Day 1
An overnight flight takes you from London Heathrow to Nairobi in Kenya with Kenya Airways.

Days 2-4 Ngorongoro Crater & Conservation Area, Tanzania
Gibb's Farm Arriving in Nairobi early in the morning you'll connect onto a smaller plane for a flight to Arusha which takes about one hour. Upon landing at Kilimanjaro Airport in Arusha you'll meet your own private superior guide and 4WD safari vehicle. Together you drive out of Arusha and into Tanzania's lush country side. You'll see sights such as Maasai herding their cattle, villagers carrying goods to the market, bustling small towns and well tended farm plots on your way to…
Gibb's Farm (full board & activities)
Spend one of your full days here visiting the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park which sits at the foot of the spectacular Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Known for its variety of habitats and numerous bird species, this park is also home to a good concentration of wildlife and the alkaline Lake Manyara. On your second full day you'll drive in the other direction to the Ngorongoro Crater and spend your time viewing the extraordinary numbers of game found here.

Days 5-6 Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania
Dunia Camp Leave Gibb's Farm after an early, and usually delicious breakfast, and drive past the Crater rim and on to Serengeti National Park. During your time here, you'll stay in one of the smart semi-permanent camps located in the southern central Serengeti. Between about February and March this is well located for the great migration. However it is also located reasonably close to Seronera which has great resident game throughout the year.
Dunia Camp (full board & activities)
With your own private guide, and in your safari vehicle with a pop to roof to make the most of game viewing, you have the flexibility to arrange your days in the Serengeti as you wish. Either head out on an all day safari, exploring far from camp and stopping when you feel like it for a picnic lunch; or enjoy a more leisurely day, with a morning drive, time to relax in camp during the heat of the day, and then an afternoon drive.

Days 7-8 Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania
Sayari Mara Camp Heading out early in the morning is often best as it's when predators are usually at their most active. You'll game drive your way slowly towards the more remote northern Serengeti, pausing for a picnic lunch en route. As you travel you'll pass through a variety of landscapes, each home to different animal and birdlife which your knowledgeable guide will point out to you and tell you something about. After a full day of game driving you will arrive at…
Sayari Mara Camp (full board & activities)
This is a stunning camp located in the far north of the Serengeti, a short drive from the Mara River. From August to October this is a great spot to watch the herds of wildebeest making the famous river crossings – if you're lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to witness such a crossing, you'll find it an astonishing site.

Day 9
Drive to a nearby airstrip and catch a light aircraft flight back to Arusha. From here, either continue on to one of our beach trips in Zanzibar, Pemba, Ras Kutani or the Mafia Archipelago, or connect with your flight to Nairobi and on to London with Kenya Airways.

Day 10
Arrive back in London early in the morning having thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful safari to some of Africa's top wildlife destinations.
