Spotted-necked otter safari
This Botswana safari concentrates on two areas within the Okavango Delta: you will spend 3 nights at Xigera, an oasis on an island at the edge of Moremi's lush heart, and then 3 nights at Tubu Tree, on a large, dry island on the Jao Reserve with access to large acacia and mopane woodlands - this means a superb overview of two of the main, and most beautiful, environments within Botswana's Okavango Delta. This Botswana safari can also easily be combined with a visit to see the Victoria Falls. See our trips to Livingstone for examples of the add-on options, and their costs. The trip is an individual trip, and can be tailor-made and adapted to suit you.

Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled overnight flight with South African Airways or British Airways will take you to Johannesburg. |
In Jo'burg you'll connect to a 2-hour scheduled Air Botswana flight to Maun. From there you'll be flown by light aircraft over the Okavango Delta to a remote airstrip. A short drive by pretty floodplains and through riverine woodland takes you to your base of the next 3 nights' – |

A 10 minute light aircraft flight takes you to the Jao Reserve. You'll then drive though woodlands and seasonal flood plains – rich with game and birdlife – and usually reach camp in time for afternoon tea and an afternoon safari activity. The game sightings from Tubu are generally the best in this reserve, and whilst mokoro and boat trips are usually possible when water levels permit, the focus here tends to be on dry-land activities, like game drives. So there is sure to be plenty to see during your 3 nights at – |

You'll probably have time for a morning safari drive before taking a light aircraft flight (usually about 40minutes) from Tubu to Maun. There you'll connect with your scheduled international flight to Jo'burg, and onto your overnight flight back to London Heathrow. |

Arriving back in London Heathrow, early in the morning, it's hardly as appealing as sunrise in Botswana – but then you will have had a superb safari! |
