Spend 6 nights on the little known and underdeveloped Mafia Island: though not far from Dar es Salaam this island is rarely visited and has maintained a rustic charm, whilst the Mafia Island Marine Park has also helped to keep the beaches and coral reefs pristine; enjoy the slow pace of life in beautiful surroundings whilst staying in comfortable accommodation and then spend your last night in Dar to connect onto your international flight. This trip includes flights from and back to Dar es Salaam, but no international flights. It is designed to add onto the end of one of our Tanzania safaris to create a great trip with two very separate parts: a bush safari and a beach break.
After finishing your chosen safari, catch a domestic flight to Mafia Airport via Dar es Salaam. A vehicle will meet you there and drive you along the sandy roads, through friendly farming and fishing villages to your lodge. | This is a place to kick back and relax, have a massage or enjoy well organized activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving. The shallow reefs are perfect for snorkelling or learning to dive, whilst outside the bay, a long coral wall entertains the more experience divers. |
After lunch you will be driven to Mafia Airport where you will connect onto a late afternoon flight back to Dar es Salaam. On arrival you will be met by a driver who will take you into the heart of this bustling city and to the international style…. |

| Arrive in the early evening, in time for a quick swim in the large pool and to freshen up before heading onto the restaurant for dinner. This is a good quality hotel that is perfect for a one night stop. |

You rise around dawn on your last day, to transfer to Mafia Airport for an early flight back to Dar es Salaam. There you connect swiftly to your daytime flight to London with British Airways. |
