Wild dog safari

This extensive and varied Botswana safari explores the beautiful wet environments of the Okavango Delta and contrasting areas of the drier regions further north : you will stay for a total of 13 nights in 5 different safari camps - Linyanti Bush Camp, Lagoon Camp , Mapula Lodge, Xakanaka, and Kwara Camp. From these camps you will be able to experience the full range of activities in a variety of wildlife-rich areas: including day and night game drives, boating, guided walking and mokoro trips.

This safari to Botswana can easily be combined with a visit to see the Victoria Falls. See our trips to Livingstone for examples of the add-on options, and their costs.

The trip is an individual trip – not a group trip.

Day 1
Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled overnight flight takes you to Johannesburg.

Days 2-4 Kwando-Linyanti area, Botswana
Linyanti Bush Camp In Jo'burg you connect to a scheduled Air Botswana flight to Maun, where you are met and swiftly flown by light aircraft to Chobe Enclave . When you land, the airstrip is a game drive to your new base, the independently owned and run Linyanti Bush Camp. You usually arrive in time for a late lunch or tea, and are based here for 3 nights. Lagoon Camp After your morning game drive or walk at Linyanti Bush Camp, you will be transferred by 4WD to the airstrip for a flight onto your next camp, the picturesque Lagoon Camp, which is situated in the huge Kwando Concession. You will be transferred from the airstrip to camp by 4WD, and are based here for 3 nights. The environment here is very different and as well as day and night game drives, you can explore the Kwando River by double decker-boat. Click below for further details of –

Days 8-9 Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana
Mapula Lodge From Lagoon, after your morning game activity, you will be transferred by 4WD to the airstrip and then flown (again by light aircraft) to a private reserve in the far north of the Okavango Delta. You will be met on arrival at the airstrip and taken to the locally-owned Mapula Lodge, where you will spend your next 2 nights' safari in Botswana. For further details of Mapula Lodge, click below –

Days 10-11 Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana
Xakanaxa Your next 2 nights will be spent at Xakanaka in the game-rich Moremi Reserve, in the western Delta. Activities here very much focus on day-time game drives and mokoro excursions, as being in a national park, everyone must be back in camp shortly after sunset. You will be flown in by small plane, and then transferred to Xakanaka by 4WD game vehicle. For further details click below-

Days 12-14 Okavango Delta Safari Reserves, Botswana
Kwara Camp From Xakanaka, you will be transferred by boat along the waterways of the Okavango Delta, to spend 3 nights at Kwara Camp. Kwara is in a private concession and the environments here are particularly varied, with lagoons, channels lined with papyrus, shallow floodplains and drier areas of mopane woodland and open bush.
