Birgo Guest House
Taking its name from a sea shell, Birgo Guest House is in fact not on the coast but a 5-minute cycle (everyone on La Digue rides bikes) from the main jetty. Tucked away on quiet, leafy road, it's a low-key, island-style guesthouse with simple, pleasant rooms, basic facilities, accommodating staff and neat gardens. It offers bed and breakfast only, though half-board packages can be arranged in conjunction with the restaurant at nearby Chateau St Cloud .
Our view of Birgo Guest House
Birgo Guest House is one of La Digue's most reasonably priced places to stay, and one of its better maintained too. As such, although simple in its offering and not immediately on the seafront, it remains a good option if luxury and flash facilities are not your priority. We would recommend the deluxe rooms for a more comfortable stay though.
