Wharf Hotel: Our full report

The Wharf Hotel & Marina is situated on the east coast of Mahé, five minutes' drive from the international airport, making it a good stopover if you are flying onto another island the next day. It is also about five minutes' drive from the country's capital, Victoria.

The hotel is of traditional Creole design and offers 15 en-suite rooms, a four bedroom penthouse, restaurant, infinity pool, outdoor bar and its own marina where you can arrange to berth your yacht if you happen to be sailing by!

The 15 Luxury Rooms feature king-size beds made up with crisp white linen and all have their own verandas which offer stunning views over the ocean and mountains. Eight marina-view rooms and seven mountain-view rooms are available. The rooms are stylishly decorated in neutral tones with dark mahogany furniture. The floors are tiled and the walls painted off-white, decorated with botanical prints.

Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, air-conditioning, a flat screen TV (with satellite channels), WiFi, mini-fridge, electronic safe and ceiling fan. The en-suite shower rooms are modern with a large walk-in shower and single surface-mounted ceramic sink, and a separate cubicle for the toilet. Shampoo, soap, body lotion and shower gel are provided.

In the main area, The Wharf has a smart-looking restaurant and also tables out by the pool where you can sit and eat lunch. The pool is lovely and overlooks the marina and Eden Island beyond.

Our view

Well located for flying or boating to other islands in the Seychelles, the Wharf is a smart and stylish spot to stop for the night.
