A really lovely place to stay, especially after a long day travelling from Zambia.! The rooms are large, luxurious and very comfortable with indoor and outdoor sitting areas with great views of Table Mountain and we even had a private pool - although it was not quite warm enough for swimming. Unfortunately we were only there for 2 days I wish it could have been longer.
The delivery of our hire car on the first day did not go according to plan but Tess sorted it out and arranged alternative transport so that we did not waste the whole morning and she was also very helpful with suggestions about organisng our trip, places to see and restaurant suggestions.
Bishops Court is quite a way from the centre of Cape Town but we found it easy to drive in and park during the day and decided taxi's were probably a better option for going out at night - although we did stay in and have a good Malay curry one night.
Could not be better
Excellent. Very helpful staff. Perfect food and beautiful room and situation
5* plus accommodation and would recommend to anyone
Wonderful place!!
This was a lovely place to end our trip. We were given the largest suite, which was exceptionally comfortable with a beautiful bathroom and its own pool! All the staff were very helpful, friendly, and keen to make our stay as special as they could. Tessa and Sam were the managers there who were informative, professional and very friendly. The breakfast was in a beautiful dining area attached to a main lounge with views of the back of Table Mountain. The breakfasts were delicious and had a variety of different tempting foods each morning; not the standard fare. Primrose was keen to cook as much as possible and was very disappointed if she couldn't provide us with an enormous cooked breakfast!!
The hotel is in a very exclusive residential area, being both away from the coastal areas and the city. There are drivers, Elvis or Daniel who are available to take you out for excursions at reasonable rates, half or full day. You would either need to have your own transport or rely on this option. Our excursions were excellent taking in Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, and the penguin colony all via the coastal route. We also enjoyed the city bus tour, which was great for getting an overview of the city.
Bishops' Court review
We really enjoyed Bishop's Court, our room was extremely comfortable, spacious and very newly refurbished with a huge open plan bathroom and a nice balcony with a view of table mountain.
Tessa could not have done more to make us feel welcome and provided some top tips on restaurants and sorted out our hire car company for us!
Having a driver available in the evenings is really nice if you want to leave the hire car behind.
Great fun at Bishops'Court
An amazing place. Beautifully appointed and fabulous views. Very warm friendly staff.
We were the first guests after a major refurbishment and arrived a bit earlier than expected. As a result we were the first to experience a number of snagging problems as the builders moved out ! This resulted in a very light hearted relationship which really made our visit to South Africa. Tessa , the manager, felt like an old friend by the end of our stay.
An in-house driver willing to take us to restaurants in the evening and pick us up later was very helpful.
We had an excellent meal in-house on our last evening.
Bishops' Court review
Although basically a B&B they now offer dinner. As ever absolutely excellent and we cannot think of any adverse criticism.

All round excellent .
Very useful to have Daniel to drive you whenever you need to go out for dinner.
Bishops' Court review
Bishops Court is an excellent Guest House although a little off the beaten track. I hadnt realised it would be quite so far from restaurants etc.
Room was beautiful as was view. Staff were excellent and could not have done more for us partcularly when we had a problem with the hire car.
Bishops' Court review
Perhaps a little too far out of the centre.
All the other rooms were very much better - more spacious and better equipped. Definitely the short straw.
Atmosphere a little lacking.
