Beautiful B&B in Upington
What a great surprise. We were not aware that Upington was such a lovely place. Le Must was a lovely place.
The manager was absolutely fantastic. She was not only welcoming but very helpful in guiding us about what to do in our half-day in town. I was able to enjoy a quick dip in the river which was very refreshing. We stayed at "the best room" and fully enjoyed it. It was not only beautifully decorated but extremely comfortable. The location is amazing right next to the river and a few blocks from the main street where all the shops and restaurants are. Breakfast was very good.
We wish we could have stayed at least one more day! What a wonderful place!
Le Must River Residence review
We had a nice room however we found the decor of the common rooms a bit too heavy and dark for our liking.
The riverfront is lovely.
Le Must River Residence review
After 7 nights of "basic" accommodation, checking into the Le Must River Residence was a complete contrast! The hotel/guest house is beautiful - with gorgeous gardens, and stylish, luxurious bedrooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - and we would definitely recommend this as a place to stay, especially if you are "in transit" on your way to the airport. We ate at the Le Must Restaurant in Upington (probably a 15 minute walk - although we decided to take the car) and the food was excellent (huge portions!).
Our only criticism was the fact that there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - instead Guests are told to "help themselves" from the kitchen (not great first thing in the morning, or last thing at night ...).
Very comfortable rather than luxurious
A very unusual hotel/guest house! Certainly not the boutique hotel it purports to be. An unexpectedly businesslike welcome set the tone!
It was not clear to us beforehand that their associated restaurant is actually a car drive away in the centre of Upington. Like the hotel, it was enigmatic; good food unusually served.
Breakfast was very good. The garden is luxuriant, very shady and backs directly onto the Orange river.
