Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve review
expensive but excellent value for money and expense worth paying...didn't disappoint in anyway
very well looked after, excellent food and service
spa staff wonderful
guide helpful and informative
our wishes carefully attended to in every respect
really enjoyed trails which were well marked and maintained
only down side was we were unable to really make use of the suite due to the time of year and cool weather
as with so many venues in SA they are built for the heat!
Nevertheless the luxury of a fire lit for us each evening in our room was wonderful
Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve review
This is a fabulous oasis at the end of quite a long drive from Cape Town. The last 50km or so, over a rough dirt road, so on arrival being shown direct to the room would be better than a grand tour of the various facilities including a conference room!
Unlucky also the first greeting was to tell us they had no liquor licence and we had to order our wine virtually immediately as they had to drive 50km each way to get it! Management was over attentive and they need to relax more.
Wonderful lodge, real luxury and great food
Luxury and comfort with first class food drawing heavily from local produce and the wild plants of the area.
We had a very relaxing stay here and should have scheduled longer to fully appreciate the facilities and make the most of the opportunities available.
Very personal attention from the staff. Another for the repeat visit list
Oasis of luxury in the wilderness reserve
No problem finding it, although we did wonder a little bit where we were heading as the roads are not fantastic.
Then entering the compound was an amazing experience and totally unexpected. Beautiful grounds and wonderful rooms. Other people may regularly live at this standard, we don't, and were completly bowled over. The extra touches in the rooms like a sealed scroll of bedtime story, and luxurious bath robes. 12 chefs to pamper to some of the best food I have ever been offered.
The whole living was extraordinary and far above any standard I have enjoyed before.
Then Jacques, our guide (we had quite some time with him as our personal guide) was very enthusiastic to show us as much as possible and laid on an archaeological expert to explain the cave paintings, and carried sundowner drinks to special places and did everything possible to make it interesting and exciting. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but obviously Jacques was specially important to us.
If 5 star is the best, this was 12 star!!
