Erongo Wilderness Lodge Central Highlands, Namibia
The exposed granite around Erongo forms large, rounded hills which are well-suited to hiking and gentle scrambling – so it's a great place to stretch your legs after time in a vehicle. Barchan Dune Retreat Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Many of the Namib-Naukluft's excellent walking trails are within a fairly short drive of Barchan Dune Retreat. Alternatively, the Retreat is surrounded by the Rantberge Mountains; a stunning range in the semi-desert region adjacent to the Namib. Canon Roadhouse Fish River Canyon, Namibia
The Canon Roadhouse offers a short hiking trail with views over the mountains. You can also drive out to the Fish River Canyon and do short walks around the area, or even arrange longer guided hikes lasting 4-5 days inside the Fish River Canyon itself – perhaps using the roadhouse as your base at the start and end of your trip. - View lodge details

Travellers can walk directly from Sossus Dune Lodge into the nearby Sesriem Canyon, and there's a mountain behind the lodge that's worth exploring. Etendeka Mountain Camp Damaraland, Namibia
If you're fit and active, then Etendeka is a great place to do some walking – its activities are usually split fairly equally between driving and walking. A normal day at the camp might include a 2-4 hour walk, an afternoon game drive and possibly a short hike on to one of the area's mountains. - View lodge details

Desert Horse Inn Luderitz, Namibia
Keen walkers can hike from one of two possible bases on Klein Aus Vista. From the Desert Horse Inn, guests can embark on a short 1-hour sunset walk or a longer 3-hour walking trail.
