The Selous Game Reserve is a great place to enjoy watching a variety of birds. On our last visit to Impala Camp we spotted beautifully delicate malachite kingfishers and regal African fish eagles. Furthermore as we were there in February when the Selous is becoming greener, the birdlife was abundant and we were fortunate enough to see carmine bee-eaters playfully following the safari vehicles and catching insects. - View lodge details

The Selous Game Reserve is a great park to see a real variety of bird species. When we were here last, we saw different types of kingfisher, birds of prey, hornbills and a great deal more. The Sand Rivers hide is a fantastic place to camp out for a few hours and observe these birds - amongst many others – that come down to the marsh to drink and hunt for small fish and insects. - View lodge details

To see a variety of bird life, perhaps do some walking whilst at Sable Mountain and head out into the dense brachystegia forest. This is a great place for birds and you can expect to see a host of forest species including the exquisite Livingstone's turaco, a variety of hornbills and the vociferous forest weaver. - View lodge details
