Sable Mountain Lodge in Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania The surrounding woodland is a lovely place to experience a variety of wildlife. Whilst on guided safari walks, you might have the opportunity to see forest associated species such as blue monkey, black-and white colobus and the amazing chequered elephant shrew. Game drives concentrate on the plains in the vicinity of the camp and the north of the park. There are very few other vehicles around, although when last we visited there wasn't much game around either. - View lodge details

Lobo Wildlife Lodge in Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania The Serengeti's Lobo area has good permanent game, even when the great migration isn't passing through. Klipspringers and endless hyraxes live on the kopje, whilst buffalo, elephant, giraffe and impala frequent the plains. Lobo Kopje's mixture of jumbled, rounded rocks is ideal leopard country, and there is usually at least one pride of lion in the vicinity. - View lodge details

Beho Beho in Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania The wildlife around Beho Beho is good throughout the year, with a healthy lion population and sometimes wild dog as well - though as nomadic animals you can never guarantee when they will be in the area. You are also bound to see an abundance of giraffe, wildebeest and the odd buffalo.
