Mchenja Bushcamp South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

South Luangwa is one of Africa's top big game destinations, with high densities of wildlife; night drives make sightings of lion and leopard particularly common. On one of our drives from Mchenja Bushcamp during the dry season, we saw many antelope – including impala and puku – a slender mongoose, a genet and a bushbaby, before and exciting hour or more following a pride of three lion out hunting. - View lodge details

Chongwe River Camp Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia

A guided walking safari from Chongwe River camp into the foothills of the Zambezi escarpment could produce sightings of the Samango or blue monkey (Corcophithecus mitis). Although found in pockets throughout south, east and central Africa, this species prefers humid areas with abundant water and tall trees making this is one of the only easily accessible spots in the Lower Zambezi to find them. - View lodge details

Mwaleshi Camp North Luangwa National Park, Zambia

The game in North Luangwa National Park is very similar to that in South Luangwa – although you will find more Cookson's wildebeest here, and generally better populations of eland and hartebeest. Giraffe are notable for their absence, but buffalo are more numerous here; lion seem slightly more common (and in larger prides) as the result. Sausage Tree Camp Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia

Sausage Tree is within the Lower Zambezi National Park, so their game is considerably denser than around the camps in the surrounding GMA. We have seen breeding herds of elephants, (calves paddling in the shallows, still learning how to use their trunks) buffalo and lions. Not to forget the nocturnal animals on night drives, including civets, honey badgers, genets and porcupines. - View lodge details

Shumba Camp Kafue National Park, Zambia
Shumba stands in the middle of the vast Busanga Plains, which cover a variety of habitats from seasonal and permanent floodplains to tree islands and grasslands, edged with miombo woodland. Various unusual species occur here such as serval, oribi, Lichtenstein's hartebeest and Defassa waterbuck; it is one of the only areas in Zambia where cheetah are regularly seen. - View lodge details

Crocodile Bushcamp South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Kaingo Camp South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Kaingo Camp has a high density of game and bird life in their area of Luangwa National Park. As well as a variety of herbivores, the endemic Crawshay's zebra, Cookson's wildebeest and Thornicroft giraffe occur here. There are also a high number of predators with two large lion prides (the Mwamba and the Hollywood pride) and regular leopard sightings. - View lodge details

Busanga Bushcamp Kafue National Park, Zambia
The small Busanga Bushcamp stands beside the amazing Busanga Plains, which encompass a variety of habitats from marshlands and papyrus beds to open grasslands and tree islands. Chiawa Camp Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia
The Chiawa area has the best game in the Lower Zambezi National Park. As well as excellent birding, the variety of game here was impressive, including lion, buffalo, hyena, leopard, elephant, waterbuck and bushbuck. Nocturnal sightings including porcupines, elephant shrews, banded mongeese, civets, large spotted genets and even African wildcat. - View lodge details
