Onsea House review

Our journey home had a large gap due to airline schedules and so Asilia booked a dayroom for us at Onsea House. A smallish lodge tucked away on the quiet outskirts of Arusha; we didn't expect much but Onsea was great.

A comfortable room, a shower to wash the safari dust off, lunch thrown in and an hour or so quiet kip before the final bit of our journey home. So much better than a hotel

Onsea House Feedback

If I hadn't have known where I was, gazing out from the terrace I'd have plumped for somewhere in the very verdant Caribbean.

Although I was asleep for part of the time here due to succumbing to two lunch-time beers, the house, gardens and outlook were all stunning and it is a wonderful little oasis off the beaten track.

Onsea House review

This is a great place with an excellent manager.

When we had flight issues he was flexible to our needs and helped source transport from the airport etc.

They weer helpful and allowed us to use phones etc to sort forward problems. I will detail transport problems to Maruska later.
There was a very helpful french woman there whi I would have rated 10/10 except she had strong words with some staff within earshot of guests. A bit more discretion with staff problems may be in order.

This is without doubt a great asset for Ex Af to have on the ground

Overnight and lunch on return

The development of Onsea House has been a big improvement. Outward our stay was excellent but on our return where we had a day room and lunch there were very few options on the menu and service was very slow.

Great place to recover from jet lag!

A lovely guest house.

Excellent accommodations and restaurant. A nice place to decompress after international flights and before safari.

A bit off the highway, but still a very pleasant, safe area for walking and getting oriented.

Onsea House review

We loved the intimacy of Onsea House. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, with the atmosphere being very relaxed. The rooms were beautifully furnished - stylish but not over the top. The setting was peaceful. We were lucky to be in the cottage which was very secluded.

I'm not sure whether I would have been happy to stay in the guest rooms at the main house as they overlooked the terrace area where drinks and meals were served - we are early night people and I wonder whether when it's busy whether this would have been a problem for travellers like us. I would have wanted to have known this in advance if that had of been an option so that I could factor this in to my decision making.

Food was great and Axel was a great host. He accommodated my shellfish allergy (which I find very boring as from the few prawns which I have tasted I loved!) making me feel that it just wasn't an issue and that he was creating something just for me. Overall a brilliant start to our trip.
