Winding paths lead through the gardens to and from the bedrooms at Plantation Lodge
Rooms
The standard rooms at Plantation Lodge are spacious and have been decorated to a high standard, but each is slightly different. Some are detached 'cottages' and some are semi-detached in the old stableblock. Some have the added advantage of a veranda, with a couple of sunloungers, chairs and a small table from which to relax and enjoy the lodge and its grounds.Inside each room, straw mats cover dark, slate floors, lending a very natural feel. The double bed in the middle of the room is covered with a colourful African bedspread, surrounded by a mosquito net, and flanked by wooden bedside tables. A cupboard and a couple of chairs complete the furnishings.
All of the bedrooms at Plantation Lodge have en-suite bathrooms, also decorated simply but elegantly with fittings of a high standard. Each has a bath and a simple, separate shower. A large wooden mirror hangs above a single sink unit that has been sunk into a wooden surround.
White-tiled walls keep the bathrooms bright and slate floors keep them cool. White towels hang from various rails and a hairdryer sits next to the sink.
The four suites at Plantation Lodge are each slightly different from the other:
- The Coffee House Suite consists of two separate bedrooms and a lounge area, making it a good option for families.
- The Zanzibar Suite has dark wooden furniture and a distinctly Zanzibari feel. The en-suite is vast, with a raised stone bath, a very high arched ceiling and a fire. Lots of little trinkets are dotted around, giving it a very homely feel.
- The Jacaranda Suite is often known as the honeymoon suite since it's set slightly apart with spectacular views over the garden.
- They also have a Garden House which is a great option for families or groups of friends travelling together as it has four separate bedrooms.
