Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park.

It offers guided walking safaris...

...where you might spot some of the park’s fantastic birdlife...

...as well as a good amount of wildlife.

Ruaha is known for its dramatic scenery, including rolling hills...

...and open plains with skeletal baobab trees.

Ruaha’s wild and untrammelled feel sets it apart from other reserves.

I visited Tanzania between 12 Feb 2016 and 27 Feb 2016

We enjoyed the company and expertise of Chris Fox and his team, making it very personal." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 15 on a Tanzania safari

"Tanzania in the (very) Wet Season"

I visited Tanzania between 11 Feb 2016 and 27 Feb 2016
"Wonderful!! Chris and his team at Expert Africa are always brilliant - there is always someone in the office who has visited the places we want to visit and can give in depth information and advice. Thank you Ellie for all your help and advice and, also, Liz who took over whilst Ellie was on Honeymoon and had to sort out last minute changes when one of our chosen camps was closed by unusual weather conditions.

Just one very slight niggle - getting the Tanzanian visas on arrival in Dar proved to be a bit of a nightmare. There is no organisation resulting in passports for each member of the group being returned haphazardly one taking over an hour to handed back .TAB ( that's Africa baby!!)

We think that it is definitely worth the extra expense of applying for the visas in U.K.

Keep up,the good work!" Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 15 on a Tanzania safari

"My Jan 2016 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 31 Jan 2016 and 13 Feb 2016
"we had a wonderful holiday, despite having vehicles "stuck in" on several occasions ( all dealt with excellently by the staff) It really was an adventure and we were looked after wonderfully well by all concerned.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

I don't think you could improve on the service that you give, we have traveled with you several times now and every time it has been nothing short of excellent.

Both Valerie and I would like to thank you all most sincerely, for everything you have done for us over the years." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Tanzania safari

"Another memorable trip"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 23 Jan 2016 and 6 Feb 2016
"Another great trip to two re-visited destinations. Still like the long stay at a single camp.

Looking back would not change anything - even the driving back to camp peeking though a tiny gap in a rain poncho against driving torrential rain!

"My Dec 2015 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 27 Dec 2015 and 1 Jan 2016
"It was fantastic!

From our initial discussion on options to the final bookings, EA were excellent, providing expert insight into what each camp could offer and tie that in with our wishes.

The Kwihala camp was perfect for what we wanted, extremely comfortable, great food and run by a very good team. The safari in Ruaha was just what we wanted, remote and quiet with good and varied wildlife, but without being overrun and therefore ambivalent/bored of such amazing creatures." "Great safari coupled with R&R on the beach"

I visited Tanzania between 8 Nov 2015 and 23 Nov 2015
"Our safari in Selous and Ruaha compared very favourably with other safari holidays we have had in southern Africa. A few days at Ras Kutani was an ideal way to relax at the end of our trip.

All the travel arrangements worked well.

The staff in all the places where we stayed were invariably very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Altogether a wonderful holiday." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 14 on a Tanzania safari

"My Nov 2015 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 1 Nov 2015 and 12 Nov 2015
"We had a really memorable trip and each of the camps provided unforgettable experience, but the whole thing was rescued by the staff at Expert Africa after our disastrous experiences with the airline.

Liz Wollen's recommendations as to the best balance for the trip and the camps to stay at were really helpful, and we are so grateful for all the work that went in to making sure we got the whole of the ten days' trip. A lot of the reorganisation - rebooking airlines and camps had to be done late at night, our time, and Maruska, in New Zealand did so much reorganising so quickly and kept us up to date.

Liz and Maruska really rescued our trip and for that we are immensely grateful.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

No.

Expert Africa would now always be our agents of choice. We have received an exceptionally professional, efficient and friendly service for which we are immensely grateful. We really can't recommend them highly enough" Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"Keep coming back!"

I visited Tanzania between 17 Oct 2015 and 28 Oct 2015
"The danger of returning to the same places is that subsequent visits may not live up to previous experiences.

This has never proved to be the case - my favorite places in East Africa never fail to provide new and exciting opportunities and the people are always delightful. Its never long before i think about the next trip!" Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari
