Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park.

It offers guided walking safaris...

...where you might spot some of the park’s fantastic birdlife...

...as well as a good amount of wildlife.

Ruaha is known for its dramatic scenery, including rolling hills...

...and open plains with skeletal baobab trees.

Ruaha’s wild and untrammelled feel sets it apart from other reserves.

"Great trip to southern Tanzania"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 31 Oct 2019 and 20 Nov 2019
"This was a very enjoyable trip.

It was good to experience different areas and to experience land and water safaris.

An added bonus was a wonderful few days in Zanzibar.

Expert Africa provide a great service. Knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff and a very competitive price." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 11 on a Tanzania safari

"Wonderful southern Tanzania safari trip"

I visited Tanzania between 19 Oct 2019 and 30 Oct 2019
"Overall we had a fabulous holiday in southern Tanzania - 4 days in Ruaha (Ikuka) followed by 3 nights in Selous (Siwandu) with a night either side in Dar. The two parks provided a wonderful contrast from the dry plains of Ruaha dotted with acacia and baobab trees to the the green riverine forest of Selous with its lakeside location. On balance we slightly preferred the luxury and glorious setting of Ikuka, but Siwandu was still very comfortable. Both camps provided fantastic and different animal sightings.
We haven't been to northern Tanzania but understand that southern Tanzania, Ruaha in particular, is an unknown gem.
Olivia did a really excellent job of arranging our holiday, patiently juggling arrangements to suit and answering all my questions. All the arrangements worked perfectly. There was always someone to meet us at the correct time and place. We would most definitely recommend Expert Africa and consider using them again for another holiday to Africa." She continually went above and beyond in every aspect of our trip from negotiating upgrades to arranging for great local guides and transport. "Well organised, well balanced trip"

I visited Tanzania between 14 Sep 2019 and 26 Sep 2019
"All good bar two very (very) minor things.

Two parks provided great mix of scenery and wildlife. Two camps were of very high all round standrad.

Staff were uniformly friendly, professional and helpful; guides at both camps were energetic and enthusiastic and made the trip (shout out to Godfrey at Sand Rivers and Geofrey at Ikuka)." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

"Our 5th safari"

I visited Tanzania between 12 Sep 2019 and 29 Sep 2019
"We have used Expert Africa for all of our trips and have never been disappointed. They provide expert guidance on chosing camps that suit us, as they know the types of camps and locations that we will enjoy. They have often given us new places to consider and their recommendations have been excellent.

A traveler should keep in mind that animals move about and you can't be assured of finding everything in one area. On this trip, we traveled to the eastern Serengeti and to Ruaha and the Selous in the south in order to find a variety -- more lions in one area, more elephants in another, for example. We had excellent sightings in each area." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 15 on a Tanzania safari

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 10 Sep 2019 and 28 Sep 2019
"An excellent trip that lived up to expectations. It was well planned and well thought out. Our only slight reservation was the Coastal Aviation detour to get from Tarangire to Ruaha, which took a lot longer than scheduled." Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 12 on a Tanzania safari
