This 11-night safari visits four of Tanzania's most spectacular game viewing areas, including the captivating Serengeti and the amazing Ngorongoro Crater, guided throughout by professional and knowledgeable guides who can help you make the most out of your experiences.
Day 1
Travel from London Heathrow on a scheduled overnight flight to Kenya Airways.Days 2-4
3 nights at Oliver's Camp (full board & activities) | Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
On arrival in Nairobi you'll connect on to a smaller plane for a short hop to Arusha. Your superior guide and private 4WD vehicle will meet you. Drive past Arusha, through rural farmland and past Maasai grazing their cattle, before stopping for a picnic lunch. Then enter Tarangire National Park for your first game drive on the way to Oliver's Camp. Tarangire is a particularly rewarding park during Tanzania's long dry season. The south of the park, where Oliver's Camp is located, is wild and remote. Use your three nights here to explore on walking safaris as well as game drives.Days 5-7
3 nights at Gibb's Farm (full board & activities) | Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania
Game drive your way out of Tarangire National Park and head towards the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Travel to Gibbs’ Farm, which is set amongst coffee plantations, and situated, on the forested slopes of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. It is a great base from which to visit the Ngorongoro Crater and also Lake Manyara National Park. Leave early for the Ngorongoro Crater to spend the day on safari in one of Africa’s most remarkable areas. Expect close encounters with big game and sightings of more unusual creatures such as the Kori Bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird. On your other full day you’ll visit Lake Manyara National Park. Day 8
1 night at Serengeti Migration Camp (full board & activities) | Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania
Drive into the Serengeti National Park you'll first drive across wide open plains and then through acacia bush before stopping at a very comfortable Serengeti Migration Camp. Perfect for a one night stop whilst on route to the northern Serengeti, Migration Camp is located for the great migration in the months of July and August a two or three night stay could be considered here. Throughout the year this camp is a good base to explore more remote north and eastern parts of Serengeti National Park. The experience of your superior guide and the flexibility of travelling in a private safari vehicle will help you to get the best out of the abundant wildlife.Days 9-12
4 nights at Sayari Mara Camp (full board & activities) | Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania
Depart Migration Camp in the morning with a packed lunch and drive deeper into Serengeti National Park. Few vehicles venture this far north, so you can enjoy real wilderness. In August, the wildebeest migration will usually be passing through this area. Sayari Camp is one of the most northerly camps in the Serengeti – for many its remoteness is its real attraction. Sayari is only a short drive away from the Mara River. From about August through to October the wildebeest herds often cross this great river in large and frenzied numbers – being nearby offers you a very good chance of witnessing one of these spectacular events.Day 13
After your last morning on safari, bid goodbye to your guide from the nearest airstrip before flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Then either continue onto one of our beach add-on trips, or catch a flight to Nairobi to connect with your overnight flight to London with Kenya Airways.Day 14
