During this great value safari you explore three very different parks within Northern Tanzania with your own superior guide and private 4WD; visit the famous World Heritage Site of the Ngorongoro Crater, spend two nights in the spectacular Serengeti National Park and spend a day exploring the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, with a view over the soda lake from your accommodation.


Day 1

Depart London Heathrow on your scheduled overnight flight with Kenya Airways to Nairobi in Kenya.

Day 2

1 night at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge (full board & activities) | Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Bougainvillea Safari Lodge makes a welcoming base for a night or twoOn arrival in Nairobi, transfer to a smaller plane for your flight to Arusha in Tanzania. During this flight you might be lucky enough to get a great view of Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Your superior guide meets you here in a private 4WD safari vehicle, and your safari starts with a fascinating drive through rural Tanzania until you reach Bougainvillea Safari Lodge. Bougainvillea is quaint and good value, in the heart of the small town of Karatu. It is ideally located for visits to the Ngorongoro Crater – being only about one hour drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive mid-afternoon, early enough to take a walk around this bustling little centre and see something of daily life in Tanzania.

Days 3-4

2 nights at Ndutu Safari Lodge (full board & activities) | Serengeti Migration Area, Tanzania

Ndutu is a popular good-value lodge beside a lake in the short-grass plains of the SerengetiLeave early for a full day in the Ngorongoro Crater. Look out for black rhino, lion, cheetah and hyena. The animals are used to safari vehicles which allow you photo opportunities at close range. In the afternoon, leave the Crater and drive down onto the plains of the great Serengeti National Park. You pass traditional Maasai villages nestled in amongst the grassy slopes which are dotted with wildlife, before arriving at your base for the next two nights Ndutu Safari Lodge. This open area is alive with grazing game throughout most of the year, though between January and early April when the migration is in the southern Serengeti, the game viewing is spectacular.

Days 5-6

2 nights at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge (full board & activities) | Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania

Kirurumu Tented Lodge sits on the egde of the Rift Valley high above Lake Manyara.Head out on your final safari drive in the Serengeti. Drive out onto the southern plains – looking out for the predators that make this area so famous. Stop somewhere for your packed lunch, before driving back around the Ngorongoro Crater rim and down the Rift Valley Escarpment. Spend the next two nights based at the very good value Kirurumu Manyara Lodge. Spend a whole day exploring the nearby Lake Manyara National Park. There are vast grassy floodplains, where you find herds of buffalo, giraffe and wildebeest, the park is also home to bright pink flamingos, cormorants, pelicans and storks. At the end of the day you'll return to the lodge for a sundowner drink overlooking the lake.

Day 7

On your last morning in Tanzania, have a leisurely start at Kirurumu before driving back to Arusha. Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and then either continue onto one of our beach add-on trips, or connect with your international Kenya Airways flight, via Nairobi, back to London.

Day 8

Arrive at Heathrow in the early morning, with time to make any onward connections home.
