If you choose to go on the Tinkerbird safari holiday in northern Tanzania, then you will spend three nights in Tarangire watching game in the national park, before relaxing for two nights at Gibb's Farm. You'll then continue your exciting safari by exploring the different areas of the Serengeti National Park.
Your itinerary begins at Kilimanjaro airport where you will be met by your driver - they will take you on to your first camp. With a beautiful setting in the Tarangire National Park, you can relax for three nights at Swala Camp. Enjoy this smart, permanent tented camp in the far south-west of the park on the edge of the Gursi Swamp. Spend time relaxing at the waterhole as the resident game comes down for a drink or spend hours captivated by the mongooses and monkeys that play around camp.
Enjoy a leisurely game drive before leaving Tarangire and heading up through the Rift Valley. Stop to admire the stunning views over the valley and enjoy the bustle of the local towns before arriving at Gibb's Farm. Spend 2 nights here and enjoy a full day down on the Crater floor to enjoy the stunning view and brilliant game it has to offer. There is also time to relax and enjoy the peaceful situation of this working farm. Enjoy walks around the organic vegetable gardens or head into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a guided morning walk to a waterfall.
In the morning catch a short flight, looking out as you fly over the Great Rift Valley escarpment and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. When you arrive in the Serengeti National Park, you will be met by a 4x4 and a safari guide, then head off on a game drive before slowly meandering back to the high-quality Dunia Camp. Stay for 2 nights in this very comfortable camp, occupying a permanent site in the Moru Kopjies area of the Southern Central Serengeti - perfect between April and June for those hoping to see the great wildebeest migration.
After a morning's game drive, head to the airstrip for your flight to the Northern Serengeti. Here you will be met by your driver/guide and will continue your safari, whilst spending two nights at Sayari Mara Camp. This camp sits just south of the Mara River and makes a wonderful base from which to watch the migration crossing. Between August and November are the best times to see this happen.
In the morning transfer by light aircraft back to Kilimanjaro Airport and then connect with your overnight Kenya Airways flight back to London.
