"We used Rhino Lodge for an overnight stay, travelling from Kili airport on to a tented camp in the Southern Serengeti. We wanted to see the Ngorongoro Crater on route and this lodge looked really convenient - and it was.

An attractive single storey lodge with Simple comfortable rooms, with balconies and a wood burning stove. A very attractive large dining room with a large central fireplace with sofas has a really nice feel to it. Overall a very good stop over and means you can get into the crater nice and early."

"Very attractive hotel set on beautiful long undeveloped beach on east coast.

Rooms very comfortable and although no a/c no problem sleeping as well designed to benefit from trade winds. No problem with the so called brackish water. Breakfast could have been better - running out of bananas and mango on Zanzibar seems bizarre! Didn't eat there in the evening so can't comment on food but reports not great.

But design of hotel and setting lovely."

"Comfortable hotel with a/c although slight feeling of package type place. Glad we upgraded to suite as standard rooms looked on the small side. Pool side was always busy but they do have their own loungers on the beach - which is beautiful.

Different vibe up in nungwi from the quieter less developed east coast, but nice to have opportunity to try different beach restaurants. Had one meal in their supposedly fine dining restaurant which was so bad the management correctly didn't charge us for it.

Staff overall very good."

"First class hotel, best position in Stone Town with very comfortable rooms (although tiny bathrooms with showers only), beautiful balconies overlooking ocean. Service and food of a very high standard.

Pool area is like an oasis and perfectly positioned for sunsets."
