A wonderful safari to northern Tanzania

Tanzania between 3 Sep 2011 and 15 Sep 2011

Trip rating: Excellent
"Everything we could have wished for and more. The itinerary went exactly as planned, with the right people meeting us and helping us every step of the way.

The driver/guides were excellent and made sure that we were always informed of the days travel plans in advance. Nothing was too much trouble with plenty of time for viewing and taking photos etc. We saw every animal you could of wished to have seen in each area and have hundreds of photos to prove it. Camps were excellent and had to be seen to be believed.

All in all a most memorable experience never to be forgotten.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Only to advise you that Swala Camp is all inclusive. Laundry, drinks and toiletries are included."

Swala Camp

Swala Camp

"Swala camp review"

3 nights Arrived 4 Sep 2011
"A lovely and well run camp even more so considering its location.

The welcome was very warm not only when we arrived but after each trip. All drinks, toiletries and laundry were included contrary to information we were given. Food was great and plentiful. Camp staff were always on hand and very friendly. Plenty of animals to watch going to and from the water hole in front of the tents.

We had our own Driver/guide from Asilia who found all the animals we could wish for, making the location of Swala Camp ideal."

Gibb's Farm

Gibb's Farm

"Gibbs Farm review"

2 nights Arrived 7 Sep 2011
"A totally different location to a camp as this was in a rural location. There was no warm welcome here like other camps on our safari.

Run more like a Hotel and with no complementary items other than tea/coffee and that was a do it yourself in the main lounge. It's setting, once there, was in beautiful gardens on a coffee plantation with good views of the surrounding countryside. The individual chalets, although large and well furnished and colonal in nature were starting to look rather tired.

This was an ideal place for visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, speaking to other travellers who stayed in Lodges on the Rim, we were infact glad that we had stayed at Gibbs Farm.

Onec again we had our own driver / guide so we did not go on their activites."

Dunia Camp

Dunia Camp

"Dunia Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Sep 2011
"Dunia Camp is a wonderful experience. Although looking like its back to basics, nothing can be further from the truth.

The staff were extremely efficient even managing to bring hot water for your gravity shower exactly at the time you requested. They even managed to serve us ice cream in the middle of the day. The food was marvellous even more so considering its location and not being a permanent camp.

Here we had a Dunia camp driver / guide to ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and was even able to find a Black Rhino for us."

Sayari Camp

Sayari Camp

"Sayari Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 11 Sep 2011
"A permanent camp that was in two parts with separate dining / lounge areas for each. We were met at the airstrip by a local driver/guide and went on safari before arriving at the camp for dinner. At this camp we went out for sun downers, a great experience, but we had to share the 4x4. Although, saying that, we had met the other passengers at the last camp, and this added to the experience.

We had two all day game drives, and on both days saw the wildebeests crossing the Mara river, fantastic!! We saw every animal you could think of, including rhino, mating lions, cheetahs, leopards and elephants, as well as all the wildebeests, zebras etc. on the plains.

The camp itself was lavish, with good food, and comfortable lounge, as well as a nice cool swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed hearing about the day's highlights of which there were many. A superb location within hearing distance of the Mara River."
