Overall feedback

Zambia between 25 Mar 2009 and 9 Apr 2009

Trip rating: Excellent
"Fantastic - the most important things were that we saw the wildlife and had experiences that we wanted.

Your questionnaire is too much on the camps/hotels and not enough on the experiences and what you see which are far more important to us. We would go back to each place we stayed and we would certainly use Expert Africa again especially as we initially costed this trip ouselves and found that you offered a good saving and the added comfort of support in the UK and Anna's advice and in depth knowledge of Zambia. We know a number of other clients who say the same about Anna :)

Suggestions to help Expert Africa improve their service: Keep on looking out for camps and lodges that concentrate on wildlife not just creature comforts. Keep prices competitive, keep friendly and knowledgeable staff like Anna. We are very happy - thank you."

Nkwali

Nkwali

"Nkwali review"

8 nights Arrived 26 Mar 2009
"Wild Dog week - on arrival there was confusion on who was leading the week activities (R Pope or WDC) and it took a couple of days to sort out what was happening as there was no initial greet and inform on the week. We had a fantastic time anyway but this is something that could be improved.

The WDC people were wonderful and the standard of guide at R Pope's was excellent based on our experience of Botswana including Kwando, Namibia and South Africa. We had 4 different guides with different personalities but all very good. R Pope's were extremely accomodating in trying to offer multiple activities for each taste when the wild dog were showing no sign of coming close to the area. 9 leopard in 8 days is pretty good and elephant shrew and white tailed mongoose a bonus, birding fantastic.

Transport across river novel and good for quick park access. Nice to be able to go by boat on the river. More game than we expected for emereld season and with the wild dog finally turing up, a whole day with them was a bonus that you wouldn't get on any other trip.

N'kwali is a lovely camp especially for emereld season. Good access, friendly and confident staff, excellent food without feeling force fed. We had to ration the cake intake!

Having said we wouldn't normally go to the same camp twice - we would with N'kwali."

Taita Falcon Lodge (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)

"Taita Falcon Lodge Review"

3 nights Arrived 3 Apr 2009
"We visited Taita Falcon for bird watching. Actually there wasn't as much birding as we thought as there weren't that many birds in the area at that tme. Great snakes and chameleons. The situation at the top of the gorge is stunning and the bar is a fantastic place to sit with a glass of wine enjoying the view.

Nice short walks but not what you would call guided, more pleasant company to show you the way.

For those that want peace and quiet away from Livingstone it really isn't that far to go in to the Falls or attractions. Family run, homely feeling. Food very good and the family eat the same food as the guests each night."

Avani Victoria Falls

Avani Victoria Falls

"Zambezi Sun review"

3 nights Arrived 6 Apr 2009
"Location is everything. Access to the Falls whenever you want to go is fantastic and this was a very good time to go if you don't mind getting very wet.

The hotel is a typical large hotel but rooms are very good and clean. There is plenty to do around the hotel including unpublicised nature walks and bird hide. The hotel takes advantage of being out of town by inflated prices. Suggest eating dinner at Squires restaurant which whilst not cheap is better value or take a taxi out. Buy drinks in town or at the Shop at the Falls.

We organised our own trip with Bob the Birder from Livingstone - very knowledgeable and very interesting.

We would go back to the Zambezi Sun rather than paying the extra to stay next door."
