Things to see on this map of Kafue National Park

At first glance, you’ll see a huge open expanse (Kafue is Zambia’s largest national park) broken up by the winding Kafue River and its tributaries. It is along these rivers that most of the Kafue’s lodges are found.

To the north is Busanga Bushcamp, a small camp ideally located on a tree island overlooking the Busanga Plains - with its more stylish cousin Shumba Camp located further south. The patchy, dark green area just to the north of these camps is the Busanga Swamps. This permanent water source makes this one of the best areas in the park for game.

See our reference map of Kafue National Park for a more pictorial representation of the same area.

Way down at the southern end of the park, where the vegetation can clearly be seen switching from grassland to woodland, is Kaingu Lodge on the edge of the Kafue River.
