Overnight stop before flying home

The stay at the Taj Pamodzi was a practical necessity - because of the timings of our flights. The hotel was fine - nothing special, but it met our needs. It was interesting to see a little of Lusaka as we drove from the airport, and the contrast with Mfuwe was very interesting.

Taj Pamodzi hotel - one night

We booked 3 twin rooms and were give 2 twin and a double which was changed, and we had to wait about half an hour which was irritating.

We asked at the reception desk for early wake up calls but no-one got one. Perhaps iit was our fault as we could have done it from the room.

good breakfast

a disappointment after the camps

Too large and impersonal. On arrival they had me mixed up with another Turner which took time to sort out and it was late and I was tired so not good.

In the morning they had the bill wrong - charged me for the room - which again had to be sorted out. Although I had breakfast included I had to leave at 06.20 so it was really too early to have it.

The Taj makes Lusaka human

As a regular visitor to the Pamodzi I find it an ideal place to stay in Lusaka. The staff are very attentive and welcoming.

We made good use of the gym and associated facilities.

Taj Pamodzi Hotel review

I only spent one night at the Taj Pamodzi hotel right after getting to Zambia. Its a good location for a one night stop in Lusaka.

An impersonal but good enough hotel

We arrived at about 7 p.m. and although our reservation was found, the receptionist tried to claim that the room had not been prepaid. After encouragement from us, they accepted the Expert Africa voucher and agreed that we did not have to pay for the room.

Dinner was fine but there were few guests and the atmoshpere after the camps was a bit imperonal.

Breakfast began at 5.30 so we were able to eat before leaving for the airport to catch the morning BA flight. However, the breakfast buffet had obviously been cooked hours before and the food not yet properly re-heated. Overall, a poor epxerience and we wouldn't stay again.

Overnight stay at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel

We stayed one night here prior to catching the early morning BA flight back to London. The hotel is a good choice, and is only about 20-25 minutes from Lusaka airport by taxi.
