Aardvark safari - dry season

Aardvark safari - dry: In full

This trip to Zambia concentrates on the South Luangwa in the dry season, staying for 6 nights split between two camps run by Norman Carr Safaris; you will combine the new and very luxurious flagship property Chinzombo, with the simpler but still very comfortable Mchenja Bushcamp. Both sit on the Luangwa River but are in very different parts of South Luangwa National Park so the combination offers real diversity.

Zambia’s weather is generally fine and dry from June to October. For the equivalent trip during the green season (December to May), see Aardvark safari (wet).

Include:

Days 1-3

3 nights at Chinzombo (full board & activities) | South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Chinzombo is the most luxurious lodge...Depart Lusaka on a light flight (about 60 minutes) to Mfuwe Airport which is right beside South Luangwa National Park. Here you meet a safari guide who drives you for your first night to one of the most luxurious camps in the Luangwa Valley, Chinzombo.

Days 4-6

3 nights at Mchenja Bushcamp (full board & activities) | South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Mchenja Bushcamp overlooks the Luangwa River.
After your morning game drive, and a substantial brunch, you are driven for a few hours through the park to a more remote part of the park. Spend the next 3 nights at the stylish little bushcamp Mchenja which sits in a grove of ebony trees on the edge of the Luahwa River. This has to be one of the most picturesque locations in the park, and the camp offers fantastic walking safaris as well as game drives.

Day 7

Depending on your onward plans, you might either transfer to Mfuwe Airport in the morning for your flight to Lusaka. Or if you are not in a rush perhaps enjoy a morning safari and return to Lusaka in the afternoon. There are a number of flights back to Lusaka a day so the choice is yours.
