This classic Zambian safari gives you 7 nights in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park, using the three small, high-quality camps run by Robin Pope Safaris which allows you to choose your activities – from walking safaris to 4x4 game drives (night & day) – when you're there on a day-by-day basis. It's a memorable safari staying in first-class camps.
Your safari starts in Lusaka where you take a flight to Mfuwe (about 60 minutes) which is beside South Luangwa National Park. You'll be met by a safari guide and open 4WD for the 30-minute drive to Nkwali Camp, beside the Luangwa River. Arriving in time for an excellent lunch at Nkwali camp, and this will be your base for 3 nights of exploring on foot and by 4WD.
After a good brunch, you'll be driven a few hours north, to the romantic, tented camp of Tena Tena. This will be your base for a further 2 nights. As usual with all of Robin Pope's main camps, you'll have the choice of walking or driving – so it's up to you how to explore here.
After your morning activity and brunch, you'll drive to the historic Nsefu Camp, which has been beautifully rebuilt in recent years. Here you'll stay for a further 2 nights. Nsefu is close to the great salt pans, and the Luangwa's largest stork colony, so there's plenty to explore on foot or in a 4x4.
Depending on your onward arrangements, either depart in the morning, or in the afternoon after an activity. You will be taken back to Mfuwe Airport for your flight back to Lusaka where your safari with us ends.
