South Luangwa Lucky Dip Safari: In full
This is a real surprise safari to Zambia’s South Luangwa – consisting of over a week on safari using top-notch camps; however, because you allow us the flexibility to surprise you with precisely where you’re staying, that gives us and the camps flexibility to fit your trip into the available gaps; so you end up with a great value safari which costs less than you’d usually pay.
With our colleagues at Norman Carr Safari’s in the Luangwa, we’ll select your camps from amongst a handful of theirs: Kapani, Luwi, Nsolo and Kakuli.
You’ll enjoy 8 nights on safari, and we guarantee that the safari will be a representative selection which works well for the season of travel, typically including 3-4 different camps. Below is an example itinerary – just to give a flavour for the trips
At the time of making the booking, we don’t know which camps you will be visiting – we will only find out two weeks before departure, and we’ll then tell you. Some of the camps focus on walking, so it’s important that you’re happy with walking safaris for activities on a couple of your days.
Day 1
Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled British Airways overnight flight takes you directly to Lusaka.Days 2-9
8 nights at Surprise Safari Camp (full board & activities) | South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Landing early in the morning in Lusaka, you connect to a light aircraft for a flight (about 90 minutes) to Mfuwe Airport, beside South Luangwa National Park. Here you meet a safari guide who drives you to your first safari camp. It’s usually less than two hour’s drive from the airport, so you’ll usually arrive in time for lunch, after which there’s an activity. Then for the next eight nights you will spend time split between various camps - you will visit at least two different camps during your time in South Luangwa. These two or more camps would be either Kapani, Luwi, Nsolo or Kakuli. Day 10
1 night at Pioneer Camp (bed & breakfast) | Lusaka area, Zambia
Spend the morning exploring the area, and then transfer through to Mfuwe Airport for your 60 minute flight back to Lusaka. On arrival in Lusaka you'll be collected at the airport and taken for one night at your comfortable lodge. Relax at your camp in 25 acres of lawns and woodland, and book yourself onto the twenty minute transfer to Lusaka Airport for your British Airways return flight the next day.Day 11
