Zambia Wildlife Safari: In full
This great-value Zambia safari concentrates on the north side of Zambia's largest reserve, Kafue National Park, where it spends 7 nights exploring the Busanga Plains and the woodlands around Lufupa, which are so famous for their leopards; this trip uses very comfortable tented camps and is accompanied by a professional guide.
Starting from London Heathrow on a Friday evening, your scheduled British Airways
overnight flight takes you directly to Lusaka.
3 nights at Lufupa Tented Camp (full board & activities) | Kafue National Park, Zambia
Landing in Lusaka about lunchtime, you will be met at the airport. Then you will be flown by light aircraft for about 90 minutes to Lufupa Airstrip, in Kafue National Park. You'll be met at the airstrip and join your guide and fellow travellers; it's then a few hours' safari drive until you reach your first camp, Lufupa Bushcamp. Here you will spend 3 nights exploring the area in open 4x4 safari vehicles by day and possibly spot-lit safaris by night too. Walks are an option or a boat cruise on the Kafue River – or perhaps simply relax on a deckchair by the side of the river, and watch the wildlife go by.
2 nights at Musanza Bushcamp (full board & activities) | Kafue National Park, Zambia
Today your safari journeys north, heading up into the more remote areas of the park. This drive will take four or five hours – or longer depending on what you see. You will be staying on the edge of the Busanga Plains, where the grasslands start and there is a great variety of wildlife. You'll stay for 2 nights at Zambia Musanza Bushcamp. Your activities here will focus on 4x4 game drive safaris but you will occasionally be able to walk as well.
2 nights at Busanga Bushcamp (full board & activities) | Kafue National Park, Zambia
This morning you will continue driving north through the park, beyond the woodlands and into the spectacular Busanga Plains. These amazing grasslands, covering about 750km², are submerged for almost half the year. When they dry out, their nutritious grasses attract herds of lechwe and puku, and an abundance of predators including lion and cheetah. You'll stay for 2 nights in the centre of the Busanga Plains at Zambia Busanga Bushcamp.
Rising very early in the morning, there's a short drive to the nearby airstrip, where a light aircraft will fly you for 90 minutes back to Lusaka. There you connect to a scheduled flight to Johannesburg and from there to your direct South African Airways
flight back to London Heathrow.
Your flight arrives early this morning at London Heathrow after a superb trip to Zambia.
