I coulkd live in Crocodile Camp

Its difficult make any negative comments about Crocodile Bushcamp it is such a lovely camp.
Issac and Rory our guides were very knowledgeable and interesting and made the walks a wonderful experience.
Waterhole magic from your window
We loved this bushcamp not just because it had all the Tafika standards but because the area was so beautiful.
Clients who just go to Tafika would be missing a seriously great experience if they did not come here.
2nd bush camp
We preferred this site to Chikoko although I can see some folk may like the "upstairs" security of Chikoko for their first camp. The walks were varied and lovely. The coking in open fires and bread from earth ovens was fantastically good. It is essential to take lots of Prolite for temperatures were 36-40 most days peak.
At these 2 bushcamps we saw, sometimes from a distance, occasionally really close ( buffalo and elephant detours), loads of animals esp. 00's of buffalo, elephants in groups and small families, all the other main ones except lion,lepoard giraffe and eland - we did look in all the likely places and saw recent tracks and kills.
The way the scenery changes quickly in these 2 bushcapms is amazing - mopani scrub, lagoons, high grasses, wooded, open plain - it is all there on a single walk. The birds are everywhere. The trees extraordinany in the way 1 will stand out shiny green amongst 00's of similar species apparently dead - but not just yet coming alive again. Such variety so that each walk is a real experience.
We liked the combination of peace and quiet on the walks with occasionall burst of frenzied activity as we spooked an animal or they did it themsleves.

Rory McDougall an excellent host, guide and lovely chap.
Watched Rory and the staff rescue a young buffalo stuck in a dambo and condemned. Their rescue took sustained effort, courage and was admirable.
Guide Sizsay (speeling?) great together with George Stuart and cook Patterson. Lovely guys one and all._

We had a relaxing time (1 night) at Crocodile camp. Again, good food and service. Nice place to unwind with a beer by the camp fire.

We stayed for three nights at Crocodile Camp. We walked there from Tafika, which included a river crossing by canoe, as our morning walk. It took about 4 hours to get there but we took a very winding route and stopped for tea and cake.
We did not see as much game at Crocodile Camp as at Chikoko or Tafika. However, our time there gave us an opportunity to learn how to identify plants, trees, bird calls, tracks and droppings! The highlights of our time at Crocodile were seeing male kudu very close and watching the elephants crossing the river.
Crocodile Camp is located on the bank of a dried-up river bed. We saw quite a lot of animals from camp including elephants, antelope and warthog.
The service, food and accommodation was great but more rustic than Tafika. The showers were heated by the sun in the day giving a warm evening shower.
We met some fun and interesting people at Crocodile and the numbers staying there ranged from just us to 6 people (the maximum). We had the same guide, Stephen, throughout our stay at the walking camps and this provided good continuity because he knew what we had already seen. Stephen was an excellent guide and we learnt an enormous amount from him.
The atmosphere is really relaxed at Crocodile. We started our morning walk early to avoid the sun. We'd normally walk from about 5.45 or 6 am to about 11am with a stop for tea. If we were out much beyond 11am, it began to get pretty hot when walking. Lunch was at about 12 and then everyone chilled out until tea and cakes at about 4pm. We'd then walk again from about 4.15 to 6pm. Dinner was at about 7.30pm. The terrain was not difficult to walk on because it was all flat but the grass was quite long in places.

A well set-up and located bushcamp. Very good food considering it is a bushcamp. Good area for guiding and seeing all the required wildlife.
An excelent choise for anyone wishing to enjoy bushcamping and walking in the wild especially in combination with Chikoko Bushcamp and the main camp of Tafika. Very experienced guides some of the best in the Luangwa area.
The highlight of the trip was getting to within 40 feet of a female liones.
