"Safari with Son and Grandsons 5/18"

I visited Zambia between 29 May 2018 and 7 Jun 2018
"This trip was perfectly balanced between a more luxury experience of Tafika and more rustic at Three Rivers Camp.

Special thanks to the expert assistance and patience of Megan Green. She went above and beyond in helping me put this adventure together. The food, location and staff were exceptional at each place.

I may come back next year with my daughter and another grandson!" Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zambia safari

"Our First Safari"

I visited Zambia between 25 May 2018 and 7 Jun 2018
"We could not have had a more amazing trip for our first safari! Ten days at three camps in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, followed by 2 days at Victoria Falls, provided incredible wildlife sightings and experiences. Our trip goals were for wildlife and photography, which were absolutely me above and beyond what we hoped fort! We saw every animal on our list, including all of the Big Five except rhinos (since they are not in the region), two leopard kills, and three different packs of wild dogs!

Each camp we stayed at (Flatdogs, Kaingo, and Tafika) was excellent in its own way, and we felt pampered at every stop. We also felt exceptionally comfortable with our dietary restrictions (vegetarian and severe allergies) everywhere which was a huge relief and greatly added to our stress-free vacation.

We could not have planned this trip without the extensive expertise and help of Amanda Bond and Expert Africa - she really took our trip goals and worked with us to build the ideal trip. Everything was perfect from start to finish and we couldn't have asked for a better safari experience. We are so grateful to Amanda and Expert Africa for taking care of every single detail so that we could make the most of our time in Zambia. From the time we stepped off the plane in Zambia everything was smooth sailing.

We would not hesitate to work with Expert Africa again in the future and cannot recommend Amanda Bond enough! Thank you so much!

"My May 2018 trip"

I visited Zambia and 2 other countries between 19 May 2018 and 3 Jun 2018
"Trip was great as can be read on the comments/reviews. I have learnt a lot and would definitely change a few things next time; particularly the sequencing of how everything was planned. Also it got a little travel hectic at times which kind of effected the flow of things. For example flying from Sossusvlei Desert Lodge to Windhoek, then transferring to Johannesburg, waking up at 3am, flying to lusaka, then transferring to Chongwe was not that fun, also i would have chosen Luwi or Nsolo (dependent on who I'm traveling with) for 3 nights rather then split them up, we ended up spending 1 night in Luwi (after our full day travel from Chongwe), 1 night on the sleep out and technically we were meant to stay 1 night at Nsolo before moving to Chinzombo. So the combination of the traveling from Sossusvlei with the bush camp split up meant that we were frequently in transit. Not that big of a deal but would definitely mellow it out a little. Perhaps i should have chosen closer more connected neighboring countries and focused on staying a places for more then one night. We got on 15 different flights from leaving home to returning, so you could imagine that we got over it. Also learnt how much i prefer being isolated rather then being with other game drive lodge vehicles. As mentioned earlier, it was a shame that i didn't end up seeing many cats, nature told me otherwise, one of the main considerations of choosing the destination was based on my obsession for lions an well as my mission in working a conservation program to protect them. Happy to have meet with the Zambian carnivore project team. That was fantastic, i'm glad we ended up linking before we left. Now ready to plan my next escape." "First safari"

I visited Zambia between 14 May 2018 and 29 May 2018
"The trip was my first safari and, indeed, my very first trip to Africa. It was an absolutely outstanding experience which was, without doubt, life enhancing, if not life changing.

I was extremely fortunate to go with friends who are experienced travellers in Africa and that certainly added much to the trip. They had spoken incredibly highly of both Expert Africa, in particular Freddie Sutton, and Robin Pope Safaris. I can certainly see why. I was very impressed from my very first contact with Freddie and this positive view has not waivered once throughout the booking process or on my return to the UK.

Expert Africa provided comprehensive information about the trip including a very useful guide book to Zambia which I particularly appreciated as a "first timer".

I was totally overwhelmed by the sheer majesty of the country in South Luangwa and the massive skies during the day and night. The animal life was, of course, wonderful but I hadn't expected to be as knocked out by the small details and the inter-realtionshop of all the elements of the eco systems.

I can find no fault with any of the travel arrangements, it all went very smoothly. The accommodation and food were excellent and I felt my every need was catered for.

One my over-riding memories will be of the sheer quality of the Robin Pope staff. They are exceptional. I can't remember learning so much in such a short time. The staff are so well informed and are equally generous with their knowledge.

Thank you one and all." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 13 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia just keeps on getting better & better!"

I visited Zambia between 14 May 2018 and 29 May 2018
"This is our fourth trip to Zambia staying at Robin Pope camps and the experience just keeps on getting better & better! Everything ran smoothly from the moment I contacted Freddie to our return flight home. (Even the Emirates emergency cancellation was well managed). The Tour Africa staff at Lusaka airport were there waiting for us at the beginning of our trip and available to help when we flew home. They provided a great service.

The staff at Robin Pope Safaris are fantastic - they looked after us so well. I only hope that the new owners fully appreciate what a good job they are all doing and that they are able to retain such experienced and professional staff. We hope to return next year.

Thank you Expert Africa for making it all possible.

"Magical Zambia and Zimbabwe"

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 4 May 2018 and 22 May 2018
"Expert Africa does it again! Claire is fantastic about listening to what you want and delivering. Our trip went smoothly.

The only complaint is that I never feel it is long enough--I could happily spent a month in the bush. I loved 4 nights at each camp. Shorter stays means that you are constantly packing and moving. The next trip I will look at hiring private air charters rather than using commercial flights between safari camps -- for the extra cost, I think it would be worthwhile.

Freddie Sutton took over during Claire's absence and did a fine job getting all the information to us.

"Green Season Luangwa"

I visited Zambia between 23 Mar 2018 and 7 Apr 2018
"This was my first visit to South Luangwa in the green season after many visits in the dry, and I didn't quite know what to expect from the game viewing. The cats were thin on the ground compared to dry season, but the superb wild dog sightings more than compensated for this. There was plenty of other game to be seen too, with just as many elephants, puku and impala as usual. Giraffe and kudu were far fewer than usual as apparently they don't like the boggy conditions so head for drier ground, although we were seeing more giraffe towards the end of the trip as conditions got drier.

The birding too was excellent, and interesting to see all the migrants and birds in their breeding plumage.

It was amazing to see the change in the landscape and this was most apparent from the trip up to Nsefu and travelling along the river by boat.

Robin Pope Safaris continue to impress with their levels of service with a very flexible approach to make sure every guest is happy. I was given a vehicle to myself most of the time and my guide was more than happy to be flexible about game drive timings." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 13 on a Zambia safari

"The South Luangwa in the Emerald Season"

I visited Zambia between 1 Mar 2018 and 11 Mar 2018
"As always, our trip (our sixth to the South Luangwa) exceeded expectations.

In the Emerald Season, all is green and lush, whilst the game and the birdlife is as splendid as ever, with wonderful lighting for photography. Freddie Sutton organised our trip with his customary highly efficient and friendly way.

This was our tenth trip with Expert Africa - thank you all." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 10 on a Zambia safari
