Caraway beach add-on: In full
For a relaxing getaway, spend 4 nights at the relatively new and small Mchanga Beach Lodge, which sits on a stunning stretch of Zanzibar's east coast; then enjoy 1 night discovering the exotic sights and smells of Stone Town, based at the small and great value Zanzibar Coffee House.
This trip includes flights from and back to Dar es Salaam, but no international flights. It is designed to add onto the end of one of our Tanzania safaris to create a longer and more diverse trip with two separate parts: a bush safari and a beach break.
Days 1-4
4 nights at Mchanga Beach Lodge (half board) | East Coast Zanzibar, Zanzibar
After finishing your chosen safari, connect with a 20-minute domestic flight from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar Airport. Meet your driver and head straight for the east coast of the island, where you will be able to relax by the swimming pool or take a stroll along the beach in front of Mchanga Beach Lodge. This relaxing lodge is perfect for switching off and enjoying doing really not very much at all! Spend a few days here re-charging your batteries with snoozes on sun loungers, strolls along the beach and enjoying the wonderful food cooked by a local Zanzibari chef.Day 5
1 night at Zanzibar Coffee House (bed & breakfast) | Stone Town, Zanzibar
A car will collect you for the fascinating drive back across the island to Stone Town. Pass through rural villages, banana plantations and spice farms, before arriving in the old and historical Stone Town and Zanzibar Coffee House. Stay the night at this excellent small hotel, which is situated in the heart of Stone Towns back streets, tucked between old mosques and local houses. It's the ideal base for you to discover the Old Town on foot.Day 6
Relax on your final day before your transfer back to Zanzibar Airport from where you can take an internal flight back to Dar, or head straight off on an international flight with Kenya Airways.See Prices & details for the precise dates/prices for this trip - and all the fine print.
